Check in was a breeze and the host was responsive to emails. We were impressed with the spaciousness of the kitchen and supplies available. The overall layout was perfect for our family - us parents on one side and our teen/adult children over on theirs :) The location was perfect - we were excited about the close proximity of several falls, including Sliding Rock, and the town of Brevard was so cute and great for an afternoon of walking and shopping.
This is our SECOND time at this property, and it is amazing!! The picture of the views do not give it justice, especially in the winter time. It has everything you need at the property, and very convenient to local restaurants, hiking trails, grocery store, and downtown Brevard. And the host is AMAZING and very accommodating. I highly recommend this property!!!! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you very much for the stay!!
We had a great vacation here. It was close to where we wanted to visit and we really enjoyed coming “home” after a long hot day to our cool tree house.
We absolutely loved our stay with our family and two small dogs. It was the perfect location for hiking and heading to Brevard for dinner or lunch. It was the perfect quiet escape for us before our summer gets crazy. The property was fully equipped for anything you might need, and the view was beautiful.
We really enjoyed the house, the views, the property and the location. We were there on business for 4 weeks and will stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.
Had a great time here-the right size for three couples, three kids, and a dog. Particularly enjoyed utilizing the well stocked kitchen & grill for every meal, and, the deck for easy outside time. Convenient Dupont & Pisgah for hiking. Hope to be back!
Lots of space and beautiful views. We appreciated having two separate living areas and the unique construction. Convenient to Hendersonville, Brevard and points in between.
We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the home as well as the layout. There are separate living areas which worked out great for our family. The home was very comfortable and the location was great. It was a easy drive in to Hendersonville which we really enjoyed.
The house was more spacious than expected, it has an open feel and there's room to spread out on the deck and the computer room gave a place for my sister to get some work done while on vacation. Convenient location, there's a Walmart nearby, Pizgah National Forest attractions, and restaurants and shops in Brevard. We even got to see a white squirrel in Brevard. It was a great stay at a great place!
Secluded, Quiet Mountain Getaway - Good for Families
It was fantastic for our family and friends and had everything we needed. I liked that it felt secluded, but was a quick drive to trails, a grocery store and other activities. Jeff was quick to communicate and we'd definitely go back!
Our family spent Thanksgiving together at Jeff’s place and we had such a wonderful time! It was the perfect place for the 7 of us. Everything was great, we had everything we needed, and Jeff was very quick to respond to any questions we had. One thing we wished would’ve worked was the gas fireplace in the main living room. But otherwise, we couldn’t recommend this place more!!
My son and I stayed here for several days, and I can’t say enough about how amazing of a place it was! The mountainous view were amazing from the windows and deck, and the pics don’t do it justice. Reserving and checking in was a breeze. Close to town. Will definitely stay here again, and I suggest to anyone looking at this property to stay. You will not be disappointed!!!
A beautiful house with a lot of space and the best stocked kitchen I have experienced. The morning sunrise view was lovely and the house is very close to several nice hikes and a brewery or two. The owner responded quickly when I had questions. Just 40 minutes from Asheville, as well, so a great location.
Good communication. Amazing view. Easy access to tons of “fall” activities. Able to get to national forest, gem mines, apple picking and town of Brevard within 20 min in different directions.
Within minutes to Pisgah And Dupont forests, this house withmountain views ideal for a large family, group of friends. Or as in our case perfect for rotating visits by friends and family. Spacious, with the mast bdrm on one side, three bwdrooms on the other half. Living rooms on both sides. With an open kitchen plan, and fully equipped for meals of any size. Our idea of a perfect mountain house, convenient to both Brevard and Hendersonville.
This place was amazing, I would definitely stay here again, my teens loved having their own section of the house and so did I.
We loved the sunset views!! I miss the bed already.
I would recommend a more comfortable couch near the kitchen and better shower pressure, but this wouldn’t stop me from going back!! Thanks!
First thing upon entering the home is the expansive view of the mountains. We enjoyed having the 2 separate living quarters when family visited. We used the office every day for "working from home" activities. The owner was very responsive to an appliance issue. Directions to property and ease of checking in were spot on.
Great stay. Overall very clean. A huge property with tons of space. Would definitely stay here again. Conveniently located to all of Asheville. Only negative would be the listing said the fireplaces worked but they are deactivated for insurance purposes. Also bring a hair dryer. I couldn’t find one. Owner very easy to communicate with.
This is a fabulous property - good layout, great views, good kitchen, great TVs - we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. BUT... for a house that can accommodate 8 people, there's only seating for 4 at the dinner table, and there are no other chairs that height in the house. That was a real shortcoming when one night we had 6 adults for dinner.
Great family trip to a North Carolina mountain home!
There were ten of us ranging from age 10 -73, including two pre-teens, four teens, four adults. We found the house to fit our needs exactly with plenty of room to spread out. It is very much in the forest but also close to lots of North Carolina activities. We visited the Biltmore and Asheville, but spent most of our time outside at the river and in the little nearby towns, including an outdoor concert, River Fest, Sliding Rock, and an accidental encounter with the Transylvania Cruisers car club which we loved. We ate most of our meals at home and the kitchen and grills were very adequate for our needs. If we have any suggestions it might be some new pillows and a few more deck chairs. Overall we highly recommend this property!
Sorry about that title, but if you look at this place on satellite, it cannot be helped! This is a fantastic property just as advertised. Possibly even a little larger inside than we expected. Having two separate wings was perfect for our family get away, especially because our granddaughters are 2 1/2 and five and prone to…you know what little kids do. So having our master bedroom space in the west wing was great. The fabulous deck and large windows round out the experience. This location is truly in the heart of beautiful mountain country, with famous waterfalls, state parks, the Blue Ridge Parkway, etc. all close by.
This property has a fantastic layout! There are two "pods" and that is perfect for groups who have early birds and late birds. They even have separate HVAC controls in each pod which is also awesome.
Only a couple of things to consider when renting this location: 1) although parking is excellent, the walk from the parking area to the house is treacherous making it challenging for older guests. The walkway is rock which in and of itself is not a problem, but the rocks are of widely varying heights and there is no handrail - it is not an easy trek, and 2) the house is well outfitted, but could benefit from additional lighting as it can be a bit dark. Other than these two items, we can recommend a relaxing stay at this property. Do note that despite this location feeling small townish, you are quite close to Asheville and all that it has to offer.
This was the best home we have rented from VRBO (and certainly other competitors) and we have used Homeaway/VRBO for at least 10 years. Jeff was extremely responsive and the home was supplied with everything that we would need. We rented for 5 weeks so obviously we had to purchase certain supplies but kitchen dishes, cups, utensils, glasses, etc were always available. New washer and dryer allowed us to keep clothes and linens cleaned and laundry supplies were available. Great TV's and Direct TV allowed everyone to watch what they wanted. View from the rear deck was great (at least after the morning valley fog lifted). Brand new gas grill was delivered while we were there. Note to future renters... keep grill clean and clean out the grease tray.
The location of the home to Brevard and Hendersonville is ideal and Asheville not far away. Holmes State Forest and DuPont Stae Forest about 6-8 miles away and Pisgah National Forest about the same.
