Recanto is a completely new small villa, decorated and equipped with comfort and well-being in mind for those seeking rest and knowledge of this fantastic region, located between the Douro and Tâmega rivers. This region stands out for its landscape beauty (Douro Vineyards and Paiva Walkways), its rich heritage (Romanesque Route) and its renowned gastronomy.
The location of O 'Recanto allows a close and direct experience with the friendly people of the small town of Maureles, which belongs to Marco de Canaveses.
This house has parking garage with direct access to the interior of the house. Occupying up to 6 people (4 adults + 2 children), it offers 2 air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TV, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms. It also has a nice outdoor garden area with swimming pool. Here you can sunbathe, cool off and have a nice meal.
The excellent location of O Recanto, 9 km from the A4 and A11 highways, allows you to be within walking distance and minutes from major cities such as Porto, Guimarães, Penafiel and Amarante. Marco's train station is 9 km (Porto - Pocinho line) from the guest house and 58 km from Porto International Airport.
Recanto is also inserted in the demarcated region of green wines, so you can enjoy the beautiful vineyards up close and taste the excellent wines of the Marco Wine Route.

Wonderful stay in Duoro Valley

What a wonderful experience at this beautiful home. The house was so comfortable with every amenity you need. Everything was so clean and the pool was amazing. Our communication with Maria was always prompt and she left us with helpful suggestions on restaurants and tourist attractions Sad we had such a short time here, next time we’ll stay longer. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to come to the area

Very nice house and description perfect. Maria is a very very engaged. Weather was not perfect, but this was for us not an issue. Accommodation and support by Maria was excellent and let us forget the bad weather.

ALMOST DUORO VALLEY

We had some trouble finding the home but were prepared for it, and once we arrived, we loved the stay. They were super friendly hosts, and with Google interpreting, all went smoothly. The spectacular Duoro River valley was a great place to visit on our way South to Coimbra. Two adult couples... plenty of privacy.

We hebben genoten van de mooie en zeer nette woning. Mooi zicht vanuit het toffe zwembad. De woning is een goede uitvalsbasis voor de bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. Porto is zeer dichtbij ongeveer 40 minuten rijden. De bocht na de woning maakt het inrijden in de garage gevaarlijk want er wordt nogal snel gereden in de doorgangsweg.

La villa est parfaitement équipée, et conforme à la description préalable. L’accueil a ete tres chaleureux et simple. Nous avons pu sauter dans la piscine quelques minutes après être arrivés. Seul bémol, les manoeuvres avec la voiture pour rentrer dans le garage, au niveau d’un virage assez fréquenté. Le voisin était aussi entrain de faire des travaux extérieurs pendant 3 jours, ce qui a créé des nuisances. Nous reviendrons surement

Das Ferienhaus ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Extrem sauber, alles duftet frisch und angenehm. Kommunikation mit der Eigentümerin per WhatsApp ok. Gut zu finden, mit Garage und direktem Zugang zum Haus. Modern und neuwertig eingerichtet. Gute Betten, schöner Pool. Top WLAN auch zum streamen! Was will man mehr. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!!!

Beautiful house in a small town in the country

The house is very well equipped and finished at a very high level. Could use some grill tools, but other than that was very well fitted out. No major attractions really close by, but 45-60 minutes from a number of key sites: Porto, Guimaraes, Braga, and the Douro Valley. We also did a canyoning experience up in the Peneda Geres park which was a lot of fun. Beautiful pool and outdoor eating area. Maria was great to work with and really made sure we were having a good stay. Favorite restaurant of our stay was Republica do Polvo (octopus) in Guimaraes. Highly recommend.

Fantastisch.

Het is fantastisch mooi huis, grote vertrekken en een mooie patio met een lekker zwembad. De eigenaars hebben smaak en laten dat zien in de inrichting van het huis. Pure gezelligheid. Maria, de host, is goed bereikbaar en geeft goede adviezen voor een aangenaam verblijf.

Heel fijn, schoon en modern huis.

Een heerlijk huis en van alle gemakken voorzien. Geweldig ontvangst, geen probleem om eerder in te checken en/of iets later uit te checken. Eigenaresse erg vriendelijk, vraagt regelmatig of alles (nog) naar wens is. Een aanrader als je van rust houdt, het ligt in een klein dorpje waar je tussen de locals zit!

Très belle propriété et dans un endroit reculé.

Un très bon séjour dans une jolie maison bien équipée moderne et avec une très belle piscine. Un environnement calme au milieu des vignes non loin de la vallée du Douro et à moins de 45 mn de Porto. Maria, la maîtresse de maison a été aux petits soins pendant tout notre séjour. Un grand merci à son époux et à son fils pour avoir géré les petits tracas des rendez-vous pour les tests antigeniques et PCR… nous recommandons vivement.

El recibimiento, disponibilidad y cuidado continuo de María no puede ser mejor. Todo es fácil con ella. La casa preciosa, limpia, todo nuevo y decorada con mucho gusto. Comodísimo todo: la piscina, cocina, habitaciones, garaje... una gozada. El entorno rural, de viñedos y monte, muy tranquilo y para perderse a gusto. Si quieres alejarte de todo, es el sitio ideal. Hace falta coche para visitar ciudades. Yo me quedaría a vivir ;) Obrigada

Um autêntico Recanto

A nossa estadia no Recanto não podia ter sido melhor, desde a recepção fantástica pela Maria, como toda a nossa permanência na casa. Umas condições fantásticas, decoração moderna, um brio! Uma piscina que convida desde manhã até à noite. Ficamos muito contentes, e esperamos regressar ao Retiro, onde fomos muito felizes. Aconselhamos vivamente, vão e aproveitem!

Relaxing vacation in this location

First, it was very easy to find the location. The host "catched* us on the road to the location and lead us directly to the house. The welcome was very warm with pastry and tee served to us. The house did not only meet, but exceeded our expectations. Very clean environment. The furnishing of the house is modern and very comfortable. The pool was exactly as shown on the pictures. Nice location with a private atmosphere and a nice view. The pool was very clean as well and thanks to the temperatures we were able to use it very often. The host did really care about our stay. They regularily checked whether everything is OK for us. They also gave us valuable hints about what to visit in the einvironment. The place itself is quiet on a hill. But there are old and nice towns not too far away and reachable by car. Thanks to the host for the nice stay they provided to us.
