About this property

Charmingly renovated barn conversion, perfect for a tranquil family holiday

Relax on the perfect escape to La Petitiere, a sympathetically renovated beautiful barn and house combination, which sleeps a max of 15 in 3 bedrooms; 2 doubles, 2 singles 4 double bed settees plus small child's cot, and 3 bathrooms.
La Petitiere has been lovingly converted from an derelict barn into a holiday home that will allow for an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. With its position in a quiet and beautiful countryside, the house available to rent in Brittany, La Petitere offers peace and quiet in its rurality. With only fields nearby, and the neighbours being several hundred meters away, there is no chance of disturbance, except from the occasional sighting of wildlife.
La Petitiere combines the quirkyness of this historic building with the luxury of modern facilities, without losing any of its charm, or unique character. The grand two story entrance hall with double large glass doors and windows, showcases the oak timber beams which run througout the house, and a beautiful oak staircase sweeping up to two balconies up on the first floor. The house is flooded with light, from all of the large double glazed windows, and allowing for a spectacular view of the sunset.
La Petitiere has been furnished with a very modern combination of quality antique and modern furniture, including comfortable leather sofas, a sizeable dining table and chairs which will comfortably seat 10. For your family's entertainment we have a new television, with English Freesat channels, and WiFi is available. The up to date, well equipped kitchen has everything you will need. You will enjoy using all of the new kitchen, such as the dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, cooking utensils, toaster, and cafetière, and our grand gas hob and oven cooker. Whether you are an expert cook, or just want some easy food it will make your holiday dining effortless and perfect. The ancient stone fireplace, salvaged during the renvoation work, has ample space for an open fire, and the house also offers full central heating for the colder times of the year. La Petitiere is full of insulation, so you will be cool in summer and toasty warm even in the coldest winter. Sitting in this tranquil luxury, with the faint sweet smell of burning wood on the open fire, and perhaps enjoying a delicious glass of wine with local cheeses and bread rom the local boulangerie, can be the perfect end to a day. Relax and enjoy, smiles, happiness and good times, always come as part of your holiday at La Petitere. All bedrooms have very comfortable beds to ensure a deep and resting sleep, and soft and comfortable bedding and towels.

The master bedroom on the first floor has a spacious sized room, with its own en-suite bathroom, with a a shower. Enjoy lying in bed watching the morning sun rise through windows on either side of the room. Also on the first floor there are two bedrooms, another room with a comfortable double, and an adjoining, seperate room with two singles, with shared access to a bathroom with with a bath and shower fitting. Outside we have a very large courtyard with table, chairs, sun umbrella, and barbeque. With a large garden, you can move around and follow the sun for your meals. There is next to no light pollution here, so the views of the stars on a warm evening, are magnificent and magical. It feels as if you are deep in the heart of the French countryside, it is so quiet, and peaceful, but the home is only 5 minutes from Saint Geroge de Reintembault, a
small and pretty town with everything you need to help you enjoy your stay: having a boulangerie, bar, butchers, pharmacie, petrol station, recycling, post office, hairdressers. The nearest city, Fougeres, has a multitude of shopping opporturnities, as well as the experience of walking around, and inside, a fantastic stone fortefied Chateau.

rustige grote gite
