Beautiful cottage in a quiet spot close to Exmoor National Park
We stayed in Blueberry Cottage for a week in July. Old Cleeve is a small village and very quiet. The cottage was very nicely furnished and decorated and quit comfortable. As it is a very old bulding, it is rather cool indoors, smething to keep in mind. Outdoors is a fairly big garden where you can sit in the sun of the shadow, whatever you prefer. It is close to Exmoor national park and shops are not too far away. We also did a trip by steam train. One of the stations is about 20 minutes walk from the cottage. All in all it was a lovely experience.
Stayed 7 nights in Jul 2023

Loved the little touches (such as the Prosecco, slippers, plentiful towels and fantastic chiming mantelpiece clock, fresh flowers etc etc) that all made things special, very much appreciated. Hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future.

A lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet village location with walks from the door. Very handy for the North Somerset coast and the steam railway. Very well equipped, everything provided. Nice sitting out area and views across to Minehead from the bottom of the paddock. Particularly liked the walk to Washford along the lanes and then on to Watchet along the old mineral rail line which runs parallel to the steam railway. Once at Watchet, if you have walkled !!, a vist to the Pebbles Inn is a must as their range of ciders is the largest I have ever seen, and the welcome was very warm and genuine.

Wow, what a little gem. Such a beautiful cottage with so many real features. Absolutely spotless even though dog friendly. Plenty of towels and throws. Fab location with very little traffic but masses of walks for the dog and short drives to many attractions. Lovely walk from Blue Anchor to Dunster then catch the steam train back. If the weather was better I’m sure we would have walked miles and enjoyed the pretty garden and views more.

Old Cleeve is a tiny village built around the church of St Andrews. It is an extremely friendly community and guests at Blueberry Cottage are welcome at the Lysaght club for a drink or game of skittles on a Friday evening. There are numerous National Trust walks from the village to surrounding areas and an OS map and binoculars in the cottage for those who fancy a quick ramble.

The heart of the village community is the Lysaght Club which was built by Gerald Lysaght for his workers at the iron foundry and given to the village in 1923. The Club welcomes Blueberry Cottage guests for a drink or game of skittles on a Friday evening. In the middle of the village behind the club is the community orchard which is a lovely piece of natural space to visit. It also keeps the village well stocked with fruit form mid-summer onwards.

The surrounding area has much to offer every taste. The West Somerset Railway, Minehead & Butlins, sea fishing at BlueAnchor, fly fishing for trout on the Washford & Barle and the local adventure park at Tropaquaria.
