Casa Canyella is a pretty Spanish villa with elevated views across the valley to the ancient sea port of Palamos, and the Mediterranean beyond.
Casa Canyella has private gardens all around, with brick built BBQ, as well as stone and tiled terraces around the property.

You can swim in the pool and gaze down upon Calonge Castle in the valley below!

The accommodation is all on one level, with French doors that lead straight onto the patio area by the pool. The 9 metre by 5 metre pool has Roman steps at the shallow end, and a pool ladder at the deep end.

The villa has off-road parking for two cars, and has Mediterranean-style gardens.

Casa Canyella has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an American-style fully-fitted kitchen with large fridge and freezer, ceramic hob, fan oven and dishwasher.
It also has a spacious lounge with air-conditioning for summer, and a wood-burning stove (brilliant at Christmas).

The gardens are very secluded and occupy about a quarter of an acre for privacy and perfect relaxation.

First discovered by the Greeks and Romans, the beach alongside the bay of Roses at L'Escala houses the museum of Roman & Greek ruins. This museum has to be visited along with the excellent restaurants at St Marti (a brilliant day out).

Figueres is the birthplace of Salvador Dali. Born in 1904, he must surely be the most memorable member of the art world ever!

Nice stay in Calonge, Casa Canyela

We were delighted when arriving at Casa Canyela. Very nice and well equiped house with fenomenal surroundings. The swimming pool was very clean and well maintained. Very good location and recommanded for people who like peace and sun.

nNot holiday, but survival quizz. Property is not as described, not worth the money we paid for

Villa has a lovely view as advertised, but that is all good about it. We have to note a number of points: The main and overriding problem that we are faced with was the lack of mosquito-nets on windows. The villa is infested with mosquitoes to some extent, even in the day-time. We need open windows to obtain fresh air, otherwise, it is stifling. As mosquitoes nets don't exist, it is not possible to open windows at night (we have an allergic reaction to mosquitoes as well). There are no air conditioners either (except living room) only fans which do not help with closed windows. Previous guests swatted mosquitoes - the walls demonstrate this! We have stayed before by the Med without AC, - but without nets this means is too hot to sleep. So I have finished sleeping on the uncomfortable sofa in the living room. Toilet in en-suite is not properly fixed to the floor and licking so it created big pool of water all over floor and we stopped using that bathroom. The house was not very clean (floor, walls, patio area have traces of steps, somebody else cloth stuck in the sofa etc). Pool had lost a lot of tiles, and when you go in they sometimes stick to your feet and to give an unpleasant surprise, barbecue ash pan is corroded right away and parts missing so it can only be used by finding bits of rubble to prop the grill up with, the bed-head is not fixed to the wall and show dirty wall. Blinds are far too old and seriously damaged so do not give security There are many small and tiny pans no one which is big enough, no big frying pan. There were cracked glass and a cracked bowl. There are no ceiling lights except one corroded in the living room and some lights bulbs are missing in bedroom and kitchen which is the only source of light - so house is dark. We sent emails to owner on the 2nd or 3rd day listing our problems, but he only can say that due to covid he was not able to give attention to his villa so we should understand it. He sent us cleaners with clean towels and bedding(which was not what required) and 3 days before we left somebody came to sort light bulbs, and to fix some electric problems and give us pan. Owner didn't try to resolve problems, but instead keep sending strangers to the house to work and it is not what was required by us due to covid situation and not our idea of holiday. Overall everything looks very tired and too old at villa, which could be not too bad if not other issues we had mentioned

Maison avec vue à couper le souffle. NOus y avons séjourné pendant une semaine en Aout. Maison très propre, piscine magnifique. Proprio très sympa. Je recommande.

schöne lage

Es war sehr schöne Lage ,pool gross leider pool beleuchtung defekt,hat ein wenig gefehlt zum beispiel Poolhandtücher ,dickere Decken für die Nacht ,auch in der Küche wäre nicht schlecht ,wenn ein paar Pfannen zur Verfügung da wären ,pizzaschneider so kleinigkeiten die für täglichen gebrauch gebraucht werden ,die Finca ist wirklich schön und die Lage super schön ,es wäre auch schön wenn drei Sonnenschirme gestellt werden damit Gäste sich das nicht im Urlaub kaufen müssen und dann schauen was die damit machen .Ich empfehle die Finca ,mit kleinen Investitionen vom Gastgeber würden kleine Mängel beseitigt.

We've owned Casa Canyella since 2003, and have always enjoyed holidaying in Spain.
We first visited this area many years ago and were impressed by it's delightful coves and beaches. It has never been over-developed.
When you've spent all year working in television and films it's an ideal getaway - a great place to come and unwind.

What makes this property unique

Casa Canyella has fabulous views of the Mediterranean and onwards to Palamos as well as overlooking Calonge and the neighbouring valley.
Geckos an be seen basking on the terrace under the mid-day sun (although they're very nervous and soon disappear when people are around).

The front balcony completes the 360 degree vista and is great for the setting sun at the end of the day.

Casa Canyella provides an excellent standard of accommodation together with air-conditioning, satellite and internet UK TV and a local representative for the benefit of our guests.

We have many guests return year after year - Casa Canyella has everything you need for a chilled out relaxing holiday

WiFi is provided in the villa. Public WiFi is available free along the beach-front at Sant Antoni, as well as the main square in Calonge (Placa de la Concordia).

WiFi is also provided free throughout Platja d'Aro and in most restaurants and bars.
