Masseria La Chiusa is located within the Jato Valley in the municipality of San Giuseppe Jato, just 30 km away. from the city of Palermo and 52 km from Falcone-Borsellino airport in Punta Raisi. The structure consists of an old farmhouse dating back to the second half of the fifteenth century in which six rooms and four apartments were obtained, from an 18th century Bourbon cellar now used as a restaurant and reception hall, from a church still consecrated from the same century. construction of the Masseria, from an outbuilding in which four other apartments have been created, from a swimming pool and from a large outdoor area with a play area for children.
The Masseria La Chiusa farmhouse was founded by the will of the brothers Letizia, Gabriella and Ivo Ferrara from the renovation of the country house owned by the family since the second half of the nineteenth century. The start of the business took place in continuity both with the family tradition in the field of agricultural production and with a family-type hospitality philosophy that therefore still maintains the impression of a country house. The farm, consisting of 130 hectares of land cultivated organically, produces olives, avola black grapes, legumes (white and black chickpeas), various types of vegetables, durum wheat and plums.
The high trusses and the old barrels, testimony of its past as a Bourbon cellar (dating back to the end of the eighteenth century), frame the Masseria's organic restaurant. Thanks to its capacity, capable of holding 350 seats, and the fabulous outdoor space in front, it presents itself as the ideal place to organize large Sunday banquets or for special events. The restaurant uses high quality raw materials that are self-produced in an organic or zero-kilometer regime, which our Chef's skill and creativity enhance in terms of flavor and organoleptic characteristics. In addition, the kitchen pays special attention to vegetarian, vegan and celiac menus.
«Ospitali per Natura» is the motto that represents our hospitality philosophy. Smells, flavors and natural landscapes surround guests who decide to spend an experience at our facility. The maximum capacity of the Masseria reaches forty beds divided into six rooms in the main body, four apartments with kitchenette and independent entrance and four apartments with kitchenette in the annex. The simple and entirely wooden furniture was created by a local craftsman.
Inside the Masseria there is also a chapel dating back to the end of the 15th century, once the spiritual heart of the life of the fiefdom, today, being still consecrated, it is both an element of attraction for our guests, both a place of prayer and a choice for those who decide to get married with us.
