About this property
Cherry Tree Cottage is set is in the idyllic village of Briston.
Situated near the edge of Briston village near Melton Constable is the very cosy Cherry Tree Cottage. The name of the cottage sets the tone for a lovely place to stay for a holiday in Norfolk. The mix of red brick and flint on the exterior gives it an old cottage feel.
When you enter the cottage by the red door, you walk into the nice sized living room. This room has neutral decor with a beautiful red feature wall where the log burner is located. This gives the room a warm cosy feel whilst still feeling spacious.
The living room has two 2-seater quality sofas, a TV and a log burning stove. It is perfect for out of peak season evenings when you want to curl up and relax indoors after exploring all the wonders that Norfolk has to offer.
Off this room comes the stone-tiled dining room, perfect for family meals, comfortably seating 4 and with another wood burner. Imagine sitting around the dining table with good food and wine, with the log burner lit in the background. Perfect for spending time with friends or family.
Leading from the dining room comes the well-equipped kitchen, also with a stone floor. Decorated in a light pastel yellow with half stone tiled walls, providing a cosy cottage feel.
You’ll have everything here that you need to have a comfortable stay as possible, with a fridge, freezer, oven, gas hobs, dishwasher, microwave, toaster plus tableware and cooking utensils.
Just off the kitchen is the bathroom. It has an over the shower bath, lavatory, sink and also benefits from an enclosed washing machine, so you are able to refresh your wardrobe.
Up the stairs is where all 3 bedrooms are located. The first 2 bedrooms on your left are the single bedded rooms. They both mirror each other in their decor and fittings. They have beautiful dark wood floors, drawers for clothing, bedside units and 2 windows, one of which is a skylight so you are able to stare up at the stars as you fall asleep. Across the hallway is the double bedded room which again has dark wood floors, a comfortable iron bed with cupboards, bedside units and a TV. This room overlooks the front of the property.
Due to their decor, the bedrooms really do provide a cosy and warm cottage feel.
The garden is located at the back and accessed from the kitchen door. There is a paved patio area with seating areas, one for some alfresco dining on warm summer evenings. There is also a 2 seater wooden lounger which, again, is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book to enjoy the quiet garden.
There is also a lawn area that leads up to a smaller decking area in the corner which is great for catching the last sunlight of the day.
Within the village, there is a bakery, butcher’s shop, fishmonger, a grocer’s and a mini-market with Post Office. There are two public houses in the village. On the outskirts of the village is the Three Horseshoes, a 16th-century inn with open log fire and oak beams. In the centre of the village is the former Green Man pub, which has now re-opened as the Explorers Bar.
