Great communication from host before and during stay, answering questions and addressing requests. Property was pristine and just as photos show. Water was HOT, as long as you followed the instructions suggested by the host. Simple breakfast items eggs, oatmeal, coffee and a few refrigerated items made for quick breakfasts before exploring. Location is just out of town and far enough off the road in the forest to deaden any sound. Would 100% consider renting a few of the other units if we visit again with more family.

Thank you very much for your comments. It was a pleasure receiving you.
I stayed with my family in this property from Monday to Friday. I love that is surrounded by trees and is so quiet at night. I also loved the location; it was very close to the town and lots of things to do. Being in the clouds forest we had lots of condensation and sometimes the floor would get wet, nothing a mop wouldn’t fix if you don’t mind. If you plan to cook big meals, they only have a rice cooker and an electric skillet and no stove. We didn’t have an issue with that. Overall we had a great time at this place. We got to see lots of butterflies and birds and an armadillo.

Hi Alicia,
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re glad you and your family enjoyed the peaceful forest setting, the wildlife, and the convenience of being close to town. We also appreciate your comments about condensation and kitchen equipment — we're always working on improvements and your feedback is very helpful. We hope to host you again!
Warm regards,

Excellent location with a knowledgeable host. The helpful host went above and beyond—I asked about a hiking guide for myself and my partner and he assisted with communicating and arranging our meet up the following morning. More importantly, the hiking guide was the best we have ever had. It really made our stay stellar. The beds on upper level are very comfortable and the kitchen was nice to prepare some guacamole for snacks. The only shower, which is on the upper level, was warm and clean. The whole property was actually very clean and easy to find and access. The host was very responsive to all messages. We enjoyed the jungle view to wake up to in the morning and the lovely sounds of so many bird species. Thank you, Miguel!

Lovely setting but on site owner(?) spoke no English only a child did, so difficult to check in and get things settled. No A/c or heat and it was at first hot then very cold later. Hard to sleep in the cold. No screens on windows or sliding doors. Futons to sleep on were dirty and smelly. Kitchen had very few items to make even coffee and breakfast. Would not recommend. Pretty far from Monteverde Biological Park. You can do better.

Thank you very much for your comments Lisa. We are going to study each point that you indicate and decide if it really deserves that we improve any.
The check-in service in these rooms is normally carried out by the guest himself. The reception and attention of our staff is something courtesy, and having someone who speaks English and give you information will not always be possible.
In the description of the property you can read that there is no air conditioning and heating. We're sorry you had unpleasant weather, but most accommodations in Monteverde do not offer air conditioning or heating.
In the photos of the advertisement it is well observed that there are no curtains. Many of the guests like it this way, you shouldn't expect this if it's not in the photos. In Monteverde we have several reserves and parks to admire the forest. For most lodgings, the duration to the park that you indicate is very similar. We are going to try to improve what you indicate and we also recommend you to study more the place where you are going to stay so that you are sure of what you are going to receive.
our family loved the cabin, host was super nice and helpful to organize activities, the included breakfast was amazing. location was convenient. felt like a tree house.
