Owner does not give check-in instructions so had to cancel!

I never stayed at this property so this review is only about that the owner does not respond to check-in questions and does not give check-in instructions so had to cancel! Maybe it's due to me booking only one day before check-in, but when an owner has instant booking on their apartment they should be more responsible and be able to answer 3 different messages asking for check-in instructions. These check-in instructions can also be posted to appear automatically on VRBO before check-in which was not done by this owner but which is what we do for our own listing. . This ownere never answered our messages and never gave us check-in instructions so we had to wait until 4 PM on the check-in day to cancel with VRBO and they were gracious to give us a hotel in Kiev one night free of charge! Terrible experience and hope this owner is either taken off VRBO or read our review and act accordingly. Looks like a great place at a very competitive price but we never saw it!!
