About this property
Spacious Cottage in Historic Castine
Beautifully restored cottage on peaceful Tarratine Street with views of Penobscot Bay and Islands. Known as 'The Helm,' the cottage is just a lovely half-mile walk under 100+-yr old elm trees to the center of town, the waterfront and the Castine Golf Club. Wonderful large enclosed front porch is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing. Many activities in the area, including hiking, kayaking, boating, fishing, golf and tennis. Walk to several historic remains of Revolutionary War-era forts and to Dyce's Head Lighthouse. Easy access to the sandy 'Backshore' beach at Wadsworth Cove for swimming, sunbathing or beachcombing. Short scenic drives (within 90 minutes) to Acadia National Park, Stonington, and Isle au Haut. Large kitchen, modern bathrooms, washer and dryer included. Fully furnished and tastefully landscaped.
