About this property

Luxury living in superb lake and mountain location, perfect in summer or winter

Haus Claxton was designed to make the most of the idyllic location and views, with the top floor of the house given to an open plan living area, including a luxury kitchen, dining area and living room. The kitchen is appointed to a very high standard, with an induction hob, microwave and large fridge-freezer, and has plenty of storage and workspace. Two large patio doors open onto a full-width balcony, a superb space for soaking up the sun and alfresco eating, overlooking the lake and mountains. A retractable sun blind is also fitted. There is also a cloakroom, and outside a covered parking area with access to a laundry room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer. A barbeque is also available for guests.

Downstairs there are three double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and a family bathroom. Two of the rooms contain king size beds, with the third having the option of two singles or a king size bed. The ensuite bathroom has a large bath and a luxurious rain shower. All of the bedrooms open onto a ground floor patio area overlooking the lake and mountains and leading to the garden.

Many modern and high quality features have been incorporated during the construction of Haus Claxton. Underfloor heating has been incorporated throughout the house, ensuring a wonderfully balanced temperature throughout. A smart TV and DVD are provided for guests use, together with free wifi access.

Cleaning, bed linen, towels and all taxes are all included.

The house is built on a hillside, hence the wonderful views! Dobriach village is a short walk away, although we would like to make guests aware that there is quite a steep hill to walk down, and up again on the way back! This does provide a great work-out, but for those who prefer to drive to the village and lake there is plenty of parking. We would recommend a hire car to make the most of the region.

There are several excellent supermarkets within 15 minutes drive, the closest just a few minutes away

Located in Radenthein, this holiday home is in the mountains and on a lake. Granatium Precious Stones and Millstatt Abbey Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Benedictine Monastry St. Paul and Sommeregg Castle and Torture Museum. Alpen Wildpark and Bonsai Museum Seeboden are also worth visiting. Enjoy the area's slopes with cross-country skiing and snowboarding, and don't miss out on the snowmobiling and sledging.

A lovely, comfortable, well-equipped home in the most spectacular location - you have to pinch yourself to believe the views. Peaceful and quiet, close to the lake and mountains - the perfect place for a relaxing summer holiday.

Nice new house with a fantastic view

The house (which is quite new) is very nicely located only a 30 minutes from Döbriach. Perfect place for an active holiday with lots of MTB and hiking possibilities.

Modern well equipped house with view and terrace

Nice designed house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, nice kitchen, well equipped, perfect view and terrace. The short road is too steep to walk often. The bedrooms are not big. The location is perfectly quiet. The used materials are of high quality. The owners are friendly and communicative.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad met onze 3 kinderen van 9, 8 en 5 jaar! Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, zoals een goed ingerichte keuken en ruime kasten voor al onze (sport)spullen. Het huis ruime kamers, fijne bedden en het was goed schoon. Er waren zelfs wasmiddel en vaatwastabletten aanwezig. Het geweldige terras heeft een spectaculair uitzicht over o.a. het meer. Aanrader!

Sommerurlaub im Haus Claxton

Wir haben den Urlaub mit Freunden im Haus Claxton sehr genossen. Die Umgebung, Aussicht vom Haus und die Ruhe waren fantastisch. Sehr nette Nachbarn. Leider fehlten auf der Terrasse zum Verweilen bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten (z.B. mehr als zwei Liegen), um den Sommer auch gemütlich auf der Terrasse genießen zu können. Die zwei Liegen müssten auch ausgetauscht werden, sind nicht mehr die Neuesten sind. Auch im Untergeschoss wären weitere Sitzmöglichkeiten empfehlenswert, zum Lesen o.ä., leider stand hier nur eine alte Bank, die nicht sauber war. In den Schlafzimmern könnte jeweils ein Fernsehgerät angebracht werden, da die Interessen bei 6 Personen manchmal auseinandergehen. Im Bad fehlte der Brauseschlauch an der Badewanne. Empfehlenswert wären auch Kleiderhaken in den Schlafzimmern. Sonst wollen wir nicht meckern, denn es war ein toller Urlaub.

Prima, zeer schoon, verblijf. Alles wat nodig is, is aanwezig, vooral keukenuitrusting. Alles ruim voldoende. Koffie/suiker/thee is aanwezig. Wasmachinepads en vaatwastabletten zijn aanwezig. Erg compleet allemaal. Prachtig uitzicht vanaf het groot terras en balkon. Gastvrouw is telefonisch (engelstalig) goed bereikbaar en behulpzaam.

Schönes Objekt mit perfekter Aussicht auf Döbriach und dem Millstätter See

Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir sehr zufrieden! Leider war die WLAN Verbindung oftmals schlecht und die Betten etwas unbequem! Ansonsten ist das Objekt sehr empfehlenswert!

We upgraded the WLAN a while ago to ensure that it would provide a good connection for holiday use. We haven't had any reported issues and so we will get the service checked to see whether there are temporary faults in the first instance. Similarly with the beds this is the first time we have received feedback that they are not comfortable but we will follow up options to improve them as we realise that a good nights' sleep is very important on holiday. Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung mit Blick auf den Millstätter See

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist clever entworfen mit Schlafzimmern im Untergeschoss (kühl im Sommer) und erlaubt einen direkten Blick auf den Millstätter See. Alles ist sehr hochwertig. Sehr sauber, sehr gut mit Küchenutensilien eingerichtet und unkomplizierte Kommunikation (auf Englisch) mit dem Vermieter. Das Haus ist in Starfach ganz in der Nähe zu Döbriach mit Badestränden und Restaurants gelegen. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Granatium und Wanderziele sind einfach zu erreichen.

Erholung pur!

Es war vom ersten Tag an ein phantastischer Urlaub. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet sodass es an nichts fehlt. Es gibt ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten, mit einer sehr bequemen Sitzgruppe. Auch in der Küche fehlt es an nichts. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und auch die Bäder sind perfekt. Natürlich muss man die große Terrasse erwähnen mit dem phantastischen Blick auf den See. Hier den Abend ausklingen zulassen ist Urlaub. In der Nähe befindet sich ein Spar, wo man alles bekommt was man benötigt inkl. einem Fleischer. Der Kontakt zu Fiona und Nigel, den beiden Besitzern, läuft zwar nur über englisch aber sie sind immer für einen erreichbar. Von mir 5 Sterne.

Wunderschön

Tophaus in Toplage

Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, insbesondere die Küche ist eine echte Freude - die besten Messer, die wir je irgendwo hatten! Einzig die Beleuchtung im Wohn-/Essraum fanden wir etwas grell. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist großartig, und unten liegt ein Strandbad neben dem anderen (ein freier Seezugang existiert praktisch nicht). Absolut empfehlenswert!

We fell in love with Austria during several visits over the years, and when the opportunity came up to own a home in this beautiful part of the world we leapt at it.

We spend several weeks a year there and have totally fallen in love with the country and its customs and people. We can never decide which time of the year is our favourite - is it winter when the snow transforms the scenery into a winter wonderland and we can ski and take part in other winter activities? Or the spring/summer/autumn time when the weather is lovely and the mountains and lakes offer so much to see and do? We love many outdoor activities and walking, cycling, kayaking and golf are just a few of the things we like to do in the beautiful surroundings of southern Austria.

Whatever time of year you choose to visit, we hope that you love it as much as we do!

Set in the southern Alps overlooking the Mirnock mountain range and the stunning Lake Millstatt (Millstatter-see), Haus Claxton is a modern luxury chalet-style property with three double bedrooms. The house has been designed to make the most of the breathtaking lake and mountain scenery, with a large patio and all living rooms having superb views.
Situated in the picturesque village of Dobriach, the house is ideally placed to explore the many attractions and activities that Austria’s southern-most state, Carinthia, has to offer. In summer and winter it’s perfect for couples or groups and families, whether you like an action-packed holiday or something a little more relaxing. The close proximity to the lake enables easy access to the wide variety of watersports available, as well as superb walking, hiking and cycling opportunities, right on your doorstep. Many cafes and restaurants are to be found alongside the lake, perfect for relaxing with a delicious meal or coffee and cake.

Locally and further afield there are many mountain roads and ranges to explore, with a wide variety of beautiful scenery, as well as picturesque and historic towns and villages. The borders of Italy and Slovenia are just 45 minutes drive, if you fancy exploring further afield.

There are many ski resorts in Carinthia that provide superb skiing and other winter sports. Cable cars run for much of the year, also enabling hiking, climbing and cycling in the mountains from spring through to autumn

What makes this property unique

Haus Claxton has access to some wonderful mountain and lake scenery and activities, direct from the house and also a short drive away. Its' stunning location makes it a pleasure to spend time at the house too, relaxing on the balcony and making the most of the Mirnock mountain and Lake Millstatt views.

In winter or summer there is always something to do and it is always a beautiful and relaxing place to be.

If you fancy exploring you are ideally placed to see the many treasures that Austria has to offer, as well as travelling further afield, perhaps to Italy or Slovenia.
