Lovely spot near Boliver castle
I loved staying here! The hosts were that, true hosts, who made you feel like guests to their country and home. The apt is surrounded by a lovely garden and you wake each morning to the singing of the birds. In walking distance to a bakery and to the castle (who could ask for more?). The historic Palma is 15 minutes drive as is Palmanova beach.. i hope to come back, as I enjoyed every minute of my stay.
Dear Sue, many thanks for your comments. I feel very happy that you felt so good here
you have also been a magnificent guest. Come back when you want
It will be a pleasure to see you again. Hopefully, the birds will keep waking you up.
A big hug
All the best and good return trip
Elena
At the garden
Elena and Juan were wonderful guests.
Thank you very much dear wayne. You were also a very well host.
All the best
Best regards
Elena
A charming place with history and character combined with a lovely host couple
I can really recommend this place if you wish more Mallorca than beach, food, party and drink. It’s a beautiful mansion where you have your own apartment and entrance. Birds singing in the morning and trees around. The building is 180 years old and has its own charisma. Very charming. Live a little bit of old style but still in a modern way. The hosts are absolutely lovely and has a lot of knowledge, staying very young in mind. We had a great time.
Thank you very much dear Ralph for your kind apreciation. It was really a great pleasure to meet you and Isabelle. I am pleased to know that you have spent a good time at the Bonanova
When you like, come back, you'll be wellcome to have some coffe and tea with you both.
All the best
Best regards,
Elena
Lovely older property set in peaceful gardens.
We have just returned from a months stay in La Bonanova.
The apartment, which is part of the older house, was quiet and homely, furnished with interesting artwork and many books; it had all we needed for a simple holiday.
Elena made us feel very welcome and we appreciated the owners' hospitality.
Set in an attractive private garden, there was a lovely courtyard area to sit in but unfortunately as it is north facing, not very sunny at this time of year.
Two heaters kept the apartment warm even on colder days.
Although the kitchen was small, it had all we required. The bathroom was fine with constant hot water/shower. The bedroom had two comfy beds with nice linen.
There is one local cafe/bakery/bar which you can walk to. Although busy in the area at times, we could always park nearby. And visiting Palma was easy with the bus stops outside the gate.
Staying at La Bonanova was enjoyable: an ideal place to explore the beautiful island of Mallorca and appreciate the Mallorcan lifestyle.
A lovely, homey setting!
We enjoyed a pleasant stay in the flat’s serene and beautiful setting, surrounded by a lovely yard, next to the park, with glimpses of the castle through the trees. A 20 minute walk down to the popular beach, Cala Major, Porto Pi, and the major supermarkets. The landlords were wonderful hosts and a delight to become acquainted with. A wonderfully quaint and surprisingly rural feeling experience so close to Palma.
Thank you very much, It was a pleasure to receive you and we enjoyed very much your company. You were an excellent guest. Please tell your friends your good experience at the Bonanova.
We expect to see again some day!!
All the best.
Home away from home!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay at the Bonanova.
Despite of the fact that the apartment is attached to the large house, there's no need to worry about one's privacy. The apartment is very nice and clean, full of fine literature and pieces of art. The bedroom is large with an also large and comfortable king-sized bed. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary utensils and it is simply a pleasure to enjoy breakfast or dinner on the beautiful terrace in front of the apartment.
Bonanova is located a few stops by bus outside of Palma, far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to go into town for some sightseeing or a few cocktails at the night (approximately 15 min) - a taxi will only cost around 10 EUR. Cala Major, the local and very beautiful beach, is within walking distance and the calmer beaches of illetes are not too far away, either.
There's also a bakery, which bakes fresh bread rolls and buns every morning, just around the corner.
The two owners - Elena and Juan - are very kind and helpful people: always into some chit-chat or even long and delightful conversations, without being intrusive! We were invited to enjoy a few glasses of wine with them every now and then and were lucky to get a taste of Elena's great cooking skills...
All in all, Bonanova is a definitely one of the best places we used to stay while beeing on vacation! It is really worth going there: a beautiful apartment owned by beautiful people!! We are going to come back one day, for sure.
Location
Small independent apartment of an old house with terrace, at 15minutes from the center, one kilometer to the beach. Bus stop in front of the house, easy access, quiet in a beautiful natural environment, with Bellver castle view, residential area. Very safe and quiet, well equiped,. rent € 50 a day, minimum 4 days ( 3 nights)
This apartment is ideally located only 15 minutes by bus from Palma Town Centre and within one Km from the beach at Cala Mayor ( 4 bus stations from the house) . The closest beach in Palma is just 5 minutes walking distance from the famous Cathedral. The apartment is well located in a quiet area surrounded by trees and flowers and yet it is within 15 minutes of Palma’s town centre. It makes the ideal holiday retreat to relax after a day in town visiting the sites or shopping.
At 100m to the house, in the same street there is a terrace bar serving food at a low price, there is a bakery and a small super market
The apartment has double bedroom with antique bed (120 cm)x180cm),wardrobe and chiffonier, kitchen, 1 bathroom, and a sitting room overlooking the Bellver forest,

OUTSIDE PALMA: In Valldemossa, only 14km from Palma, you can visit La Cartuja where during one winter the composer F. Chopin and his lover George Sand lived. She was a writer and wrote' A winter in Mallorca'. Near Valldemossa you can find the village of Deya, where lived and also is buried the poet and writer Robert Graves. The cementery of Deya is particularly pintoresque with a magnificent cliff views over the sea and other mountains. Around this area (North Coast) is where Mikel Douglas has an old farmhouse with his first wife.
At the north of the island( about 60km from Palma) you can find Alcudia beach, 14km of fine and white sand. You can get there easily by motorway.
All around the island there are several caves: Cuevas del Drach, Cuevas de Campanet, Cuevas de Arta and very close to the apartement Cuevas de Genova.
In the north coast you have Puerto de Soller, a fun excursion, you can go with a small electric train from the center of Palma to Soller and then take the tram to the Port.
In Palma there are lots of art galleries, exhibiting works of high quality (of course not NY) but you may get a surprise ... There are innumerable palaces and courtyards.
In Bonanova there is the 'Fundación Pilar y Joan Miro'.
The center of the island is very remarkable with its typical markets.
Mallorca is a beautiful place to discover!!!!!'
