Located on the picturesque banks of the River Dee in the area of the city known as The Groves, one of the most attractive and popular tourist areas in the heart of Chester, Riverbridge Cottage is the holiday cottage to choose.
This charming and characterful early Victorian cottage is in a truly exceptional position set aside the entrance to the delightful pedestrian footbridge over the River Dee ( The Queens Park Suspension Bridge ), opposite the gates to the famous Grosvenor Park and the steps up to St John’s Church with the City beyond ( 2 minutes walk to the City Centre ).
Stunning views from the cottage across the vibrant Groves Riverside promenade area with its newly renovated bandstand and the cute ice cream kiosks. Historic views of the Old Dee Bridge, Anchorite’s Cell and St John’s Church from the cottage windows.
As you enter via the gated courtyard and open the door to Riverbridge Cottage you know you are in for a treat. Lovingly renovated with considerable thought and care over a number of years and uniquely & lavishly furnished. The cottage is immediately welcoming. Set over 3 floors with the main living space upstairs to take full advantage of the splendid views. Accommodation features in brief 3 double bedrooms....., 2 separate lounge sitting rooms....., welcoming reception room....., kitchen with dining area....., 2 bathrooms..... and a splendid rooftop sun terrace...... Also features a ground-level patio area with rose-covered pergola.
We personally meet and greet guests on arrival and introduce them to Riverbridge Cottage.
Located in the heart of Historic Chester with fabulous shopping, culinary delights, cultural events to attend and attractions to visit. Walk the old city walls, visit the Roman amphitheatre and impressive cathedral, explore the Tudor 'Rows' offering a range of boutique, interesting shops and galleries, whilst the Storyhouse hosts a cinema, theatre and artist studio. Stroll beside the River Dee and enjoy summer festivals/mystery plays in Grosvenor Park, take a boat trip or visit the renowned Chester Zoo. Head off to National Trust houses and gardens or to North Wales mountains and coastline or visit quaint towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy rowing regattas, triathlons and nearby golf courses. Liverpool, and Manchester are within easy reach.

Bedroom 1:- An elegant master bedroom with two large arch top sash windows and impressively high ceiling set with a gleaming crystal chandelier above a kingsize double brass bedstead headed by a beautiful tapestry wall hanging. A comfy armchair also awaits you in the corner, a great place to read and relax.
Bedroom 2:- A superb French-inspired twin room with a pair of ornate French beds headed by a French tapestry wall hanging and an amazing crystal chandelier. Also features a wonderful ornate mirror with candle sconces. This room boasts more amazing views.
Bedroom 3:- French-inspired twin room with a pair of ornate French beds and button back reading chair.
Two fabulous lounge sitting rooms:-
Main lounge:- Elegantly furnished with triple aspect windows offering amazing views – great for people watching and relaxing. Also features access to the splendid rooftop terrace with patio furniture and sunshade. A great place to unwind.
Lower floor lounge :- This room with interesting features includes an inglenook fireplace. A wonderful room to relax in.
Reception room:- Welcoming ground floor reception room with two large arch top sash windows and an impressively high ceiling encircled with fascinating plaques. A feature fireplace with overmantle mirror. Door leading to entrance hall with hat & coat rack and features a Victorian tiled floor.
Two separate bathrooms:
Bathroom 1:- Ground floor bathroom with large walk-in mirrored shower, wash hand basin and WC.

The kitchen and dining area is a delightful feature of the cottage. Very well equipped with quality AEG appliances. The dining area features a large 6 seat dining table and chairs. Double patio doors open onto a walled furnished patio area with rose-covered ornate pergola, making a great outside space to relax in.

Utility area with a washer-dryer, ironing facilities, sink & drainer and first aid cabinet.
