Situated in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt valleys in Wales - the Tywi, many of our guests tell us that they spend more time than they thought just relaxing in Cae’r Beili. However, for the more adventurous there is plenty to see and do and despite our rural and peaceful location we are very centrally placed, easy to reach and an ideal spot from which to explore Mid, South and West Wales.

The village of Cil-y-cwm, has a small friendly pub serving excellent food. The village street was once a drovers’ road and the cobbled watercourses which used to be filled with water for cattle to drink can still be seen today. The village church has fifteenth century wall murals and a yew tree which is at least 1, 500 years old. The Methodist Chapel, built in 1740, was one of the first Methodist Chapels in Wales.

The whole area, in the lower foothills of the Cambrian Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, is outstanding for walkers, birdwatchers, photographers, artist and all country lovers. There are gentle strolls or more strenuous hikes from the cottage door including one to a magnificent waterfall. The area is a natural habitat for all kinds of wildlife and flora and it is common to see red kites, kestrels , sparrow hawks and many other birds. There are two RSPB Reserves - Dinas and Gwenffrwd. There are even red squirrels in the area!

Cycling, fishing, riding and golf can all be arranged locally. There are excellent facilities for mountain biking.

Beautiful Converted Barn in a Beautiful Peaceful Location
We had a wonderful stay at Cae'r Beili. The property was spacious, cosy and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped which is not always the case in other properties. I like to cook on holiday using local products and the kitchen had everything I needed. The outside was perfect to dine and relax and the peace and scenery were second to none. The hosts were welcoming , informative and friendly and the only neighbours were the sheep. I would highly recommend this beautiful holiday home and I hope to go back there again in the future.

Cae'r Beili is cared for personally by Dafydd and Meryl Tomos. Dafydd's family has farmed here for generations and Dafydd has great local knowledge. Meryl is a teacher.
We always meet our guests personally and although the barn is situated in a totally secluded position on our 150 acre working farm, we are always at hand to help to ensure your stay is a memorable one. Guests are always welcome to roam our fields and meet our sheep and dogs.

Why they chose this property

It's completely secluded and private with a safe, enclosed garden. Most barns are part of a complex with neighbours or it adjoins the owners' farmhouse. This one is quite unique - on its own and in a stunning location. Not many of these around!
