Hello Alexandra, To my horror I have realised that I never never responded to your review. I hope you have been ok through Lock Down and your family too. Now Spring is here, I expect you are enjoying your garden and I hope your plants from Cookham are thriving. All the best. Edward

Cozy with a Rich History

While visiting nearby family, we only needed a place to sleep, shower and use as spot to keep our luggage. All of our needs were met. It is directly behind the high street, with the local pubs, tea shop, restaurants and shops a brief walk away. The host was very friendly and accommodating. There is an interesting history to the property, making it a charming place to stay.

Idyllic area

Me and my mum stayed for 4 nights, we were both very impressed with how clean and spacious the apartment was, it has original beams and wooden floorboards, which were delightful, there is amazing restaurants and river walks within walking distance, and also lots to do a short drive away, the only suggestion is maybe get a little sofa in the main area, the host provided fresh milk and tea/coffee and did check throughout our stay if we needed more, all in all we had a wonderful stay, and would definately stay again

Edward and Caroline are very friendly and the barn delivers on feeling historical. The bathroom amenities are very nice, and that it's walkable to Cookham's high street is quite nice, and I appreciated having tea and juice. It was important to me to have parking onsite - and the parking is actually on the road (I normally drive on the opposite side of the road and wanted to have the simplest of parking experiences). Communication was easy when Edward was outside working, but communication through the app meant messages weren't received for long periods. At one point the bolt gave out and I was locked in. I wrote on the app but was only able to inform Edward when he walked by (I was locked in 2 hours). On check out day, I received a message that misstated the check out time for 1 hour earlier than what was on the reservation. I immediately responded, but got no response and felt rushed to leave. The shower - with very nice shower gel and lotion, did not get hot on either day. I still think this is a nice place but the mishaps made it a little less enjoyable for me.

Brilliant location for the centre of Cookham

Very attractive accommodation: the high ceilings gave the accommodation a light and airy feel and the interior wood finishes were beautifully in keeping with the age of the property with its long interesting history. The host was very welcoming and attentive to our comfort and needs.

A lovely place to relax in Cookham

The accommodation is very clean and conveniently situated as it’s near to the high street restaurants etc. There’s easy access via a private driveway so there’s no need to disturb anyone. The rooms are warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts Caroline & Edward are very friendly and helpful, I’ll happily stay here again during any future visits to Cookham.

Good Location and comfortable

We only stayed one night but the hosts were great and the property was comfortable. A few things not on the itinerary but the host explained this and a few things included like Croissants, yoghurt , orange juice etc for breakfast that was a nice addition. Overall we thought it was a great place to stay.

Lovely weekend away

Lovely property. Was very well kept and clean. It had a lot of character and was very comfortable. Ideally located just off the main road with a rustic feel. Owners are very friendly, helpful and full of local knowledge and tips. All in all a very nice property for a weekend away with my friends. Just what we were looking for. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed hosting Thomas, Will and Gareth. They kept us up to date with their arrival plans and kindly left the apartment super tidy when they left. We enjoyed getting to know them and admired how much they walked during their visit. Five star guests all round.
