Me and my Wife booked the property for a week to attend a military retirement. Before booking and again shortly after, I communicated with the property manager, explaining that my wife is HIGHLY asthmatic, verifying it was a non-smoking property, and requesting that they not use any scented cleaners prior to our arrival. Upon entering the property my wife started to have an asthma attack within 5 minutes because of residual smoke smell at the property. After a total of 10 minutes on the property we called the property manager to tell her of the situation and tell her we were leaving the property as we could not stay there. She basically said we'll tough crap, bring it up with VRBO. We have spent a month talking with VRBO who will do absolutely nothing to help us, and trying to contact the property owner who won't even respond to us or VRBO. This is now a readily available review which identifies smoking occurred on the property so that any future issues will have evidence by this review. Hope nothing is wrong with your stay, because the property manager and owner certainly won't help you with it at all. They said that if we could prove a smell with a photograph then they could force a refund. Literally, VRBO wanted us to take a picture of a smell.
