Love Lido!

This was a great place to retreat to after the craziness of Venice! The apartment is perfectly located near the vaporetto station and all amenities. It is also very quiet at night. Gianna was a great host and I will definitely stay at her place again if I come back to Venice.

Uns hat's sehr gefallen

Gute Lage, sehr nette Vermieter. Die Wohnung ist schön, einziger negativer Punkt ist dass sie etwas düster ist, da im Untergeschoss. Dafür wurde sie auch nicht allzu heiss.

Not for everyone

I must admit that I talked myself into this one. I had stayed on Lido several times, once before unsatisfactorily, and never in high season, so I wasn't prepared for the heat and high humidity, and I also wasn't prepared for a unit that wasn't air-conditioned, so the dinky rollaround swamp cooler didn't cut it, so I had to leave after two nightsand check into a A/C'ed hotel for the remaining stay. Moreover, I had a hard time locating the place since the street number wasn't mentioned, nor was a phone number. I had the misfortune of bringing a phone that wouldn't work in IT, except to receive, not send, until I got it adjusted later, so another night in a hotel when I first got there. I blame VRBO for that as the info available and the means of commo were insufficient for me, a senior non-techie. When I tried to take a shower, the warm water came and went inconsistently, and after a lengthy delay, I was forced to rinse in cold water (brrr!). I don't how the incoming family of four were going to cope. There was a "heat alarm" (not smoke), that would go off when barely cracking open a gas stove burner (lit by a cigatette lighter -- unsafe!) (and because the ambient air was already so warm, a nuisance). Further, although I had previously stayed in a condo more distant from the town, I was hampered by my temporary handicap which made it very difficult to make it to/from town on a cane, especially if carrying anything. That was my unexpected problem. The hostess Gianna spoke good English and was very gracious, except she found it unfathomable that I couldn't be comfortable trying to sleep in 26C temps, although I had brought a 220v fan which saved my life. Another consideration was that the shower had a smooth tile floor and no grab holds which made me very vulnerable to a fall -- a regular occurrence encountering the situation. In short, like I said, "not for everyone," like spoiled Americans!

I was born in Venice, lived in London for many years and now live on Lido di Venezia. The spacious apartment is situated on the ground floor of my house, where I live with my family.

Why they chose this property

The property is a large, spacious and airy apartment in a quiet, private residential street.
The apartment is self-contained and always rented one booking at a time. Even if you are travelling alone you will not find the second bedroom booked with other guests! We are always on hand should our guests need help during their stay. We are as flexible as we can be with checkin/checkout times if that is possible taking into account other bookings.
The beaches of Lido di Venezia are just 100 metres from the apartment, about a 2 minute walk. Situated at the end of the main high street on Lido, shops, restaurants and all that Lido has to offer is close at hand.

What makes this property unique

The apartment is cozy, quiet and airy. Set just off the Gran Viale, the main highstreet, this private road is the perfect place to easily get to the shops, restaurants, beaches and new outdoor swimming pool, which has just opened at the 'BlueMoon' beach complex. Public transport to Venice is a 5 minute walk away, with boats leaving every 10 minutes. Lido is well connected to Marco Polo Airport with the 'Alilaguna' shuttle service taking about 45 minuted to get from the airport to Lido.
