I had a lovely week, away from it all, in Haute Correze. I love the area though I wasn't familiar with Ussel and its surroundings but found loads of new places to see and things to do.
The accomodation was very spacious (I was alone), the dining room, kitchen and bathroom all well- equipped. I was there during a heatwave and the terrace was sometimes just too hot to sit out on, but still an asset to the property.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber/in, so schöne beeindruckende Gegend-Natur, viel Kultur zu entdecken

perfect peace
If you are looking for peace and tranquillity this is the place for you. The only thing you can hear is the one rush hour tractor!
The accommodation itself is what you would expect for the money. There is plenty of crockery and utensils.
Now then: The staircase! The spiral staircase to the bedroom is very narrow with no handrail, and this can be quite hazardous at times. great care needs to be taken here.
As this is a timber chalet, I feel a fire extinguisher should be provided., we kept the one from our car in the bedroom..
That apart, we had a lovely time. Irene and Patrick invited us over for aperitif which was nice. They have a Scottie which came over most days and was nice company, He even came with us on our daily walks.
The wifi is really good being as the location is quite remote, so no problem with communications there.
All in all a very relaxing stay.
Oh, and don't forget carrots for the donkey and ponies..
It was a lovely chalet, which was equipped with all the amenities we needed for our 10 day stay. The chalet was clean, spacious and comfortable. It's a great place to unwind from the stress of a busy life. You're surrounded by lush green surroundings and tranquillity. Irène and Patrick were wonderful hosts, and we truly enjoyed their company. They have a number of lovely animals, especially Dip the dog who visited us daily and was a great guide when we went for long walks. This was exactly what we were looking for and truly made our holiday perfect. Thanks very much for having us, Irène and Patrick!
