The stone farmhouse is a renovated cottage. It is rustic in style. A fine selection of way marked trails through the Cloghane-Brandon hills have made the area a favourite destination for hill walkers. Walks range from short shoreline strolls to the high level Brandon Ridge Walk. The local walking guide book and No. 70 O.S Map are the ideal companions for all who wish to experience our special blend of hills, valleys and Atlantic coastline.
In Cloghane-Brandon, there is a choice between shore angling at Cappa and Fermoyle strands or casting for trout and salmon in the Owenmore River Valley below the Conor Pass.
In Cloghane-Brandon, the close proximity of mountains, sea and moorland makes for an interesting mix of wild flowers, ranging from seaside plants like sea pink to Alpine saxifrages. In between are the beathland, meadow and roadside plants. In summer scarlet fuchsia, purple foxglove, yellow and orange\red combine with other flowers such as the deep violet, great butter wort, bright yellow asphodel and heath spotted orchid of the Bogland to provide a memorable blaze of colour.
The tidal estuary of Cloghane Creek is a favourite haunt of curlews, oyster catchers, herons and many other waders. Cormorants, razor bills and guillemots find it a rich fishing ground. Fulmars nest at Brandon point, off which majestic gannets wheel and plummet in their spectacular quest for food. Another impressive aerial performer, the red-billed may also be observed at Brandon Point, soaring in the distraught, or feeding on the close-cropped hillside.

For our family this area was the best of 3 worlds - small farms, mountains and the sea all in one place! So peaceful and fresh breezes. Maura and Seamus were very helpful and sweet and we would definitely stay again!
Unbelievable location with views that need to be seen to be believed. Seamus and Maura were wonderful to work with during our stay. The rustic home is simply that, perfectly rustic and authentic.
Beautiful, old stonehouse, in which we felt much more like guests of the owners than visitors. Watching the dolphins jump, from the bedroom window, was an extra plus.
Very private and perfect for those looking to disconnect. Sheep galore and great people in the area, scenery is second to none and hiking is everywhere! Will be back!!
Great location. Great hosts. Amazing views. Plenty of sheep, some right outside of the bedroom window. Mere steps from Brandon Point trailhead. Nearby beach. Not far from the town of Dingle, just over Connor Pass. Cozy peat burning fireplace. The cottage itself is an authentic snapshot of the past, cobwebs and all. A great place to stay to get away from civilization.
Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful property and location .We had the time of our lives love brandon Co.Kerry .people lovely house lovely everything just class
It was so beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and wonderful to be in this charming stone farmhouse. The VIEW! The lambs, the dolphins right out our window. Our only disappointment was LEAVING at the end of our memorable time! Seamus and Maura are so special - we loved getting to know them. We will highly recommend this to our friends!
An ocean view, complete with rainbows, amazing stars, and sheep
Staying at the Brandon Point cottage was the highlight of our Ireland visit. That was true for parents, and teen/preteens alike. The only thing we would do differently is stay longer. We felt lucky to meet the O’Neills, who made time to talk with us during the busy lambing season. The house is perfect and just what we wanted: nice, clean, amazing views of ocean/stars/rainbows, comfortable beds, and beautiful inside and out. Built by Mr O’Neill himself. We are dreaming of returning.
While we have rented many houses over the years in Ireland, this house is the best. From the warm hospitality of the owners to the picturesque landscape to the mesmerizing sunrise every morning, this house has it all.
Panoramic
This was a beautiful place for a holiday .
A peaceful house on the ocean in the mist thousands of years of history.
I am always seeking new places and adventures.
Now I wish to return to this place because of the shear beauty. Thank you Maura and Shamus for sharing you house, a such beautiful place.
Also I thank Maura and Shamus for being so helpful.
Thank you Charlie ,Mary, and Isa.
We loved our stay on Brandon Point. And Maura couldn't be any more helpful. Lots of maps, brochures, Ireland books available to browse through that helped us plan excursions and meals.
This cottage is located in a very special place-perched on the foothills of Mount Brandon, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Brandon Bay.
The house is surrounded by nature...and we spent hours simply watching the changing moods of the sea and the antics of the very varied wildlife. We saw Dolphins daily down the bay, hares, meadow pipits, swallows, wrens, robins, gannets, fulmars, choughs, bats and much more.
The views are spectacular....and it was a thrill to enjoy daily sunrises and sunsets. The light spills into the house and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and emerging morning from the bedroom.
The location is perfect as a base for walkers (of all abilities), swimmers, history enthusiasts, sightseers, foodies and those who like tradition music in traditional pubs.
The local pubs at Brandon Cé and Cloghane are cosy and friendly... And serve food. (Tip: Try a crab sandwich and pitt of Guinness in Murphy's Bar Brandon)
The local shop in Cloghane is open early and closes late... And has everything you need!! Lots of local produce also.
The cottage is cosy and the open turf fire adds to the sense of comfort and warmth.
There is a lovely outside space where we sat for hours. Also, there is a washing machine, washing line and tumble dryer.
The hosts were helpful, clear and relaxed.
The cottage is old, in the heart of tne country and traditionally built of stone - and so we expect to find a bit of dust here and there. However we think the cottage could do with a deep clean. Particularly the shower, bath, window sills and the nooks and crannies around the heaters and lamps in the kitchen.
Overall... This is a wonderful cottage and a perfect location.

Beautiful Setting and Accomodations for staying put
The house on Brandon Point is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and accommodating. Maura and Sheamus were friendly and helpful. If you want a place to sit and stay for a few days this would be perfect. I would give it a 5+ except that it is so remote and very hard to get to, if you want to use it as a base to explore Dingal or the mainland to the east. The drive to any sort of store for supplies, or a pub serving food was extremely far and sometimes treacherous by US standards. I do understand that this is common in remote Ireland but want folks from other countries to be aware.
