Welcome to “La Pincelada”, a cosy attic apartment with character, a little oasis in which you can relax and wind down whilst being in the middle of Madrid, in the artistic neighbourhood of Lavapies, surrounded by art galleries, cosy cafes and a range of tasty restaurants.
We designed “La Pincelada” so you have everything you need. Enjoy the privacy of a mini apartment which is all yours with a private fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom with a toilet and a shower, a very comfortable bed so you can fully relax after a long day of exploring and a little seating corner in case you like to have your breakfast or dinner at ‘home’ some times. At the same time, we, your hosts, will be in the apartment downstairs, happy to help you with local tips and restaurant recommendations.
If you would like to enjoy home made continental breakfast, we will happily prepare you a little breakfast feast in the morning for a fee of €5 p.p.
You share the entrance with us, the hosts, we live downstairs so to get to your mini apartment you have to walk through our entrance and then take the stairs up to your apartment.
Our flat is in the vibrant and bohemian neighbourhood Lavapies, often called the Triangle of Art, known for its three famous art centers, La Casa Encendida, La Tabacalera and, of course, the famous Museo Reina Sofía, which sits right behind our flat.
The steep medieval streets, filled with interesting eateries from all corners of the world and street art to admire will surely charm you as a visitor.
The name Lavapiés, meaning “wash your feet”, is rumored to have a variety of origins: some say it comes from the hilly streets that eventually head down towards the Manzanares River, others think it related to the streams that once ran through the neighborhood, or some say it simply relates to locals washing their feet in the fountain that was once located in the main plaza until the 19th century.
