Welcome to Blue Moon Lodge*, a Boone area log cabin, perched high atop a hill with beautiful long-range views. Best of all, you are just 10 minutes from historic downtown Boone, Appalachian State University and Valle Crucis. Sugar Mountain and Appalachian Ski Mtn are only 30 minutes away.

We love to host family vacations, birthdays, anniversaries, romantic get-a-ways, girls-weekends and ASU parents visiting students

This Tahoe style house has lots of room to spread out. There are two levels of indoor living space and a large wrap-around deck. The main level of the house features an open floor plan with dining and living areas and a fully equipped kitchen that seats ten. One wall contains large, two-story windows looking out to the valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond. On the deck, you will find log chairs, custom rockers, picnic table and an outdoor grill. Just off the deck, sits our 3-man hot tub to enjoy the stars. And of course, a mountain firepit awaits to roast marshmallows.

Back inside, the first level is assembled in an Arts and Crafts style, with hardwood flooring and natural finished tongue-and-groove paneling in the cathedral ceiling.

The living area contains a stacked-stone fireplace with gas logs, leather sofas and armchairs, a 37" Roku smart TV, and an impressive Proline billiard table. Beyond the living area is the master bedroom with with it's own romantic gas fireplace and deck. Two windows set into warmly paneled walls, a king bed piled with pillows, and a master bath with shower and jetted jacuzzi tub.

Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. They share a shared Jack-and-Jill bath with shower & tub.

Blue Moon Lodge offers something for everyone in the family, with mountain views, billiard table and more, all in a lovely setting that is peaceful and still convenient to area attractions and events. *This property was formerly known at Mockingbird Mountain.

This was really one of the best VRBOs we have ever stayed in- if it's available for your dates, book it now, seriously. the views were incredible and are even better in real life. the cabin was adorable and perfect for our family of 5 (three young kids). thoughtful touches and very tidy/clean. we are very grateful we chose to stay here!

I wish I can give negative stars so I can keep this secret gem to myself. The cabin is clean and it has everything you need. The best location with amazing views. We already planning a trip back in the summer.

Amazing view

This property was just beautiful and the view we had could not be beat! We came up during a snowfall which was a bit terrifying at times to get to the property but once we arrived, it felt like an oasis. There was a personalized card and bottle of wine to welcome up and prior to our visit, the sellers communication was wonderful. We found the place to be very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table and would love the opportunity to stay here again the future!

Incredible View

We have been staying in this area for 10 years over the 4th of July and have yet to find a view like this. Just incredible from every window. The cabin was spotless, communication with host immediate and we really enjoyed having the pool table on the main floor so that everyone was engaged! This was the first time that we did not have central AC and in July I feel like that should be considered. There are window units but NC in July is hot and the temp inside stayed around 80 during the day so just keep it in mind. We were gone most of the time during the day and used fans when we were there. Nothing to keep us from enjoying this property again!

Christmas in the mountains

We loved our stay in Blue Moon Lodge. The house was well stocked and decorated for the holidays. The hot tub was great and the house was clean. Everything worked. We loved the pool table and all the beds were comfortable.We will definitely consider staying again.

Could use a good cleaning

Check in very easy. Getting to property easy minus large washed out gully in drive way- definitely need larger truck/vehicle to go across to not drag. House was good inside. Had to run dishwasher couple of times with coffee mugs and frying pans to clean—- maybe cleaners thought dishwasher had been run or renters did not put in dishwasher cleaner. Hot tub had not been serviced. Crumbs in lazy susans. Left a day early. It was okay . Will not return. I will say owner quick to respond but I am queen of cleanliness and will not send every tiny issue to owner as it is their property and they maintain to their standards.

Peace & tranquility

This house was a beautiful place to stay as we dropped our daughter off at App State. You feel like you’re miles away in the country and yet only 5 min to downtown Boone and all the amenities you need. Views were gorgeous, house was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed! Incredible View

We love this property. We have stayed here twice and the whole family has loved it. The beds and pillows are VERY comfortable, the pool table is great for teens and the view cannot be beat. Having coffee and just staring at the view was something we enjoyed for hours every morning. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing. Gorgeous views all around. Sipping coffee on the deck is such a great way to start your day. End the night with a dip in the hot tub or a game of pool. I can’t rave enough about how perfect this place was for our getaway.

Cozy, with amazing views!

Stayed at this property for my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint. The home is cozy, beautifully decorated and has views that are amazing! We loved the fire pit, hot tub and pool table to help make the visit so fun and relaxing!
