About this property

Stunning Lochside Lodge at the Foot of The Cobbler

Please note that this property is on the market as of March 2024. Three bright & spacious ensuite double rooms, a cosy single room with bunk beds and a large twin room on the first floor provide superb accommodation. A family bathroom on the ground floor, and a shower room on the first offer individual facilities for each room.

There is a large lounge, a modern kitchen and conservatory with loch views provide ample space for all guests, and the dining room at the rear of the property with a handmade, reclaimed wood dining table will comfortably seat ten.

The generous garden has multiple seating areas to be enjoyed, with different views over the surrounding mountains and Loch Long. You may also be fortunate enough to see some deer wander close to the perimeter fence.

Lovely place to stay
Beds were comfy but small ,may need to up grade to king size beds .fire not a working coal fire as it says it an open fire but had a bit wood covering it .my child fell down the outside stair we did tell her to be careful as they might be slippery as it had been raining ,there were no signs up to let people know they could be dangerous when wet . Overall this is a lovely place to stay my family and myself had a lovely weekend thank you Tracy .

Thank you for looking at our property. We have stayed in many apartments and holiday homes over the years, and when the opportunity came to run our own, we jumped at it ! We fell in love with Ben Bheula, from the property itself to the stunning views and surroundings. We hope you love it as much as we do, and if there is anything you would like to ask us, or anything that would make your stay more enjoyable, please let us know. As this is our first time hosting, we welcome any and all feedback and suggestions (even if it is ruthless) !

Why they chose this property

Walking and hiking is available at all levels from walking by lochs and burns through wooded glens, to hiking the Munro’s and Corbett’s, especially the world famous Ben Arthur (The Cobbler), which features the most distinctive outline of any mountain in the Southern Highlands. Access to these hills and walks starts from the door at Ben Bheula with the footpath starting right next to the house.
Mountain biking routes are available, again, from the door, with way marked routes on forest tracks.
There are many picturesque towns and villages in the area such as Inveraray, with its fairytale castle and the nearby renowned Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne. Towards Dunoon the botanical gardens at Benmore offer many rare species of trees and shrubs, including giant redwoods!
Only a 12 minute walk around the Loch you can relax with the locals in Ben Arthur’s Bothy, the local pub where your dog is also welcome! A short ferry ride can also be taken from Tarbet across Loch Lomond to conquer Ben Lomond !

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the property, as there is a fantastic feeling of seclusion, which gives a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, yet we are only 1 hour from Glasgow !

There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a coffee in the morning, whilst sitting in the conservatory admiring the views.

The village of Arrochar itself is great, with a number of good pubs/bars and eateries.

Within a half hour drive, there are plenty of sights, activities and dining options, whilst some of the best walking and climbing in the area is literally right on the doorstep.
