Medieval village house on 3 floors, ground floor good kitchen diner, hallway, toilet & laundry room. Outside shaded patio area and BBQ.
1st floor, large lounge with two large sofas, windows both sides with log burner, reading chair, small tables etc. 2nd Floor 1 room with 2 single beds, wardrobe & drawers and 1 room with double bed, built in wardrobe and drawers. I bathroom and another separate toilet

A pretty cottage, very nicely decorated. The village is lovely and quiet. Good walking and biking (wonderful bike path) very close to the house.

Medieval Chic

We had booked this property in March but heard nothing from the owner until 2 hours before our expected time of arrival at which time we were still travelling with no internet access! The address of the property gave little idea as to where exactly it was situated. Fortunately we were able to visit the Tourist Information Office there and were pointed in the right direction. We finally gained access to the house via key code entry. The property itself was charming, decorated well with lovely individual touches. Ongoing communication with the owner went smoothly and we were able to have a meal at a suggested restaurant one evening in another village. All the village restaurants were not open for business except for L'Aile-Fan Rose at which we enjoyed a late lunch mixed platter.

Nice, but problems

The house was very nicely decorated and pleasant. The village is probably lovely in season, but none of the restaurants were open during our stay. We did find restaurants in Brantome. There is a small store with limited food, so we had to travel to Thiviers (Intermarche) or Brantome (Spar) for shopping. The listing stated that there was a dryer. There wasn’t one. There were no instructions for the TV, so we couldn’t get it to work. When we arrived, the host told us the coffee maker didn’t work. She didn’t replace it, so no coffee for our stay as there is no cafe in the village. All in all, it was a pleasant house, but a disappointing visit.

Sorry the stay wasn’t quite how you’d hoped. We are surprised you didn’t contact us regarding the TV. It does work and you are our first guests in three years who haven’t managed to operate it. The coffee machine does work, capsules were there. It’s just that the collection tray had gone missing after the last guests stayed so we’ve ordered a new tray which has now arrived but the machine was operable. As for the dryer, the old washing machine/dryer broke. We got a new one a few weeks ago but without the dryer element as it was never used. We have updated the house details now. Unfortunately this time of year means a lot of restaurants are seasonal albeit the hotel restaurant in the village is open at various times. We did try and contact you to check that everything was ok but you didn’t reply. We work hard to ensure our guests have a great stay and over the last 3 years our reviews have always been excellent.

The property is excellent, as are the facilities. We fell in love with it and the village and will include it in our holiday plans for next year. The bed was really comfortable and the quality of the linen was excellent. We appreciated the welcome pack and our dog made quick work of the treats. The yard at the rear was great for sitting out and was nice and cool. The community 'garden' just beyond the top of the road was an excellent place to walk our dog and we never had any problems with parking our car.Can't recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Bridget et Sean sont super gentil, serviable et la maison étais impeccable. ce petit village est un des plus beau en France et il est bon y vivre. Nous y avons séjournée du 29 mai au 6 juin, je vous recommande a 100%.

A beautiful town house

This was delightful and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The little town had everything. Great walks for our woofers and so close to the geautiful dordogne towns and parcs. We will be booking again. Highly recommended,
