Katrina’s cottage was absolutely wonderful. It’s a short hop from many villages within the national park and also had many places close by to get groceries, fuel etc. There are lots of sites and attractions to visit close by to the cottage as well. The cottage itself is beautiful, and Katrina included a cute gift basket for us. The cottage was very clean and had all the necessities you would need for your stay. Katrina also provided a lovely guide with all the key things you need to know about the cottage and the local area. We had a lovely short stay and would definitely come back again!
Loved our stay. Very homey feel and loved the history surrounding us. Too short of a stay to see all we wanted to see. Would love to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Spillmans
Lovely, well equipped cottage with a great walk up Warton Crag right on your door, and great choices for food and drink within walking distance.
Perfect for a relaxing weekend.

The house was very unique. It was a lovely setting in a village that is busy by day but deathly quiet at night. Parking is tricky and the road through the village is extremely narrow but once you've navigated that, it was perfect for us.
This is a beautiful home and we really enjoy our stay. The owner was super responsive and really thoughtful she left us lots of little details to assist our stay with our baby.
Very cosy little cottage with interesting history.
Very comfortable bed with beautifully clean bed linen.
Warton is a great little village close to Silverdale and Arnside.
Wonderful stay and will hopefully be back next year.
Lovely little cottage, since well used. Excellent communication from the host, and done lovely welcome gifts. Fantastic overall, and we'll book again!

Great place to stay in a lovely location and convenient for visiting our friends.
No problem with parking even though on the roadside.
Little touches in the cottage that made us feel very welcome, thank you so much
Katrina is very accommodating and easy to contact if any problems arise. Cottage is lovely and cosy with a lovely fire. House well equipped and ideal for a small family.
This property is very quaint and has lots of character. The kitchen is well equipped. It was lovely to have a real fire most nights. Very handy to see the lakes and our friends who live in the village.
We as a family of 4 and our whippet puppy had a lovely 2 night stay in Penny Post Cottage, it was lovely and clean and had everything we could want and need to make our stay perfect.
We loved the character and the charm of the interior and the little garden was great to sit out with a cuppa when the weather allowed...!
In all a comfortable stay in a charming cottage..
Thank you katrina for your communication prior to arrival and your speedy response to my messages..
We'll be returning one day..

Such a quirky cottage in a lovely village . All we needed & more . Comfy beds , great outdoor space , clean & inviting . Katrina was a wonderful host , we will hopefully be booking again next year .
A lovely property with lots of original features and charm. Looks small from the outside but is deceivingly spacious. Everything you need, we’ll appointed and very cosy. Great location in a small village and well placed for all surrounding attractions. Decent beer and food in the Malt Shovel - 5 mins walk. Good walks up Warton Crag and just a short distance from RSPB Leighton Moss. Would definitely visit again.

This beautiful cottage has everything and more for your stay. Location is perfect for exploring the lake district, the coast and Lancaster. We were so comfortable and blessed with the weather, so we could sit outside on the lovely seating area. Never have we stayed anywhere with everything we could possibly need until here. Lovely friendly place too, and I once again wish to thank Katrina for the birthday surprises for my daughter, a massive hit.

Thank you so much for the lovely review.
It was a pleasure to host you both.
You're welcome back absolutely anytime ☺️ x
Gorgeous little cottage in a very quiet picturesque village! Absolutely spotlessly clean! Amazing walks straight from the cottage! We went during the covid semi lockdown just for a change of scenery so did not go to any of the lovely looking pubs close by. Had a walk up Warton crag which is fantastic and on the doorstep. Excellent location to get to morcambe the lakes and Lancaster. Would recommend to anyone.

Thank you so much Sam for the lovely review. Hope you can visit again once the lockdown eases up. Katrina x
The cottage is very cute and higgledy piggledy, wonky stairs, beams etc.
Things to note - There is a curtain over the toilet, not a door; but there is the option of closing the landing door and the master bedroom for privacy. The bed is very hard, there is road noise and the church bells ring on the hour every hour. The kitchen is well stocked and there was a lovely welcome hamper on arrival. Communication with the host was good. Beautiful church grounds and warton rectory next door. Pet friendly and nice touches for furry friends, but the garden walls were low enough that our small dog could jump over. could jump over.over.them door

Thank you for your kind review.
Firmness of mattresses is a personal preference however we do generally get very positive feedback on the comfort of the bed.
Sorry it was a little firm for you. :-(
Really enjoyed our first couple of nights. That was until the boiler broke Tuesday morning. Host did arrange for someone to come out and fix it however it by time we got back it was broken again. Host then turned up with a bucket of coal another couple of heaters and a bottle of wine. Nothing could be done at 5pm at night. After this though we didn't get any updates on if the boiler would be fixed and the house is very cold without heating we also didn't have any hot water. Not really how we wanted to spend out honeymoon. We left Thursday morning and I was really glad to be heading home to get some warmth. The other issue we had is the toilet doesn't have a door but a small curtain that you pull across.
Location however was brilliant. Micro brewery was lovely and the food was great. Warton crag is definitely a good one to walk. We'll definitely be visiting the area again but not in this cottage.

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologied for the boiler failing. We did as much as we possilby could. Unfortunately, other than provide more heaters, coal and wood (taking the total to three) there really wasn't anything else we could have done. Along with the wine we deducted the pet fee too.
Sorry to hear that you wouldn't stay another time. From our part, you arrived one year early which caused a significant delay in receiving payment. Thankfully in almost all cases our guests would happily return. (See Airbnb reviews too) So pleased that you enjoyed the area though.
