About this property
Romantic retreat for 2, ideally-situated for Falmouth town and beaches
The Retreat is a two-storey property, semi-detached to the owners' main home, situated in a quiet residential area close to the bustling town centre of Falmouth. Stylishly presented throughout and recently refurbished to a high standard, this bolthole makes for a wonderful, romantic escape for couples looking to enjoy the delights of South Cornwall.
It benefits from luxurious finishing touches including an in-built wine cooler, electric reclining sofas, huge fluffy bath sheets and a sumptuous king-size bed.
Views of the beautiful landscaped garden and across the valley set the tone for relaxing in this quiet retreat, set away from the busy scenes of popular beaches. Guests have exclusive use of their clearly defined areas including a patio which overlooks the pool and the pebble beach, complete with two sun loungers, which are ideal for lounging poolside. There is also a Stainless Steel Drum BBQ ideal for alfresco summer dining. The owners are also pleased to allow guests to use their pool: a real advantage when the Cornish beaches are packed and it is even heated during the summer months (June - August). And the garden is a glorious suntrap. To the front of the property, The Retreat has an entrance discrete from the main house by means of its own private courtyard, accessed via a short flight of steps. It offers an additional seating area for guests. Falmouth is also home to a number of beaches including Swanpool and Gyllyngvase: both are within walking distance and offer a range of watersports and beach activities to get involved in.When you fancy a break from walking, jump on the nearby branch line train ('The Maritime Line') to reach the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle within minutes. Further afield, you may fancy exploring the glorious countryside of the Roseland Peninsula, the National Trust owned Glendurgan Garden and the picturesque village of St Mawes is not to be missed – just hop on a ferry! All that this superb location has to offer, combined with The Retreat’s luxurious facilities, will ensure that you have a holiday to remember whatever the time of year.
