Town: Hinderwell is a small, lively village close to the fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay. Her prayers were answered when a spring appeared near the sight of the present Parish Church, and this spring has continued to flow from the hillside to this day. The village is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside, and walks, cycle ways, gliding, horse riding and fishing are all well catered for in the area. Whitby is seven miles away and the town has a rich and varied heritage waiting to be discovered. Thi

The property was easy to find with a good parking space. The house was clean but cold. We arrived in a rain storm and it was very cold and windy. It took us a while to figure out the heating, even with all the instructions, but we are in our 70's and 80's so it was probably our fault! However, we went to the Badger & hounds pub (practically next door and lovely and warm where we enjoyed a lovely evening meal. We tend to prefer to use public transport or walk whilst away and this was very convenient. Went to a different location every day and after the initial poor weather we had lots of sunshine. I would definitely recommend this cottage for the parking and convenience of public transport
