Great villa in the center of Reykjavik on the most beautiful valley of the town
A modern spacious villa with the great view of the most beautiful valley in the center of Reykjavik (Fossvogurvalley), located in a quiet and family friendly neighborhood just few minutes from the City Center.
The main floor has an open living/dining room area with large table and 2 big sofas.and provides a great place for families and groups to relax and enjoy a good meal after a busy day of sightseeing. From the living room it is possible to access in the open space to a nice side open room for the TV. At the same floor there is a spacious kitchen with table, a large bedroom that can be used also as spacious office and a fully furnished bathroom. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, a central living room with spacious sofa, TV and DVD player and a fully furnished bathroom.
A washing machine can be accessed on the lower floor together with bikes, storage area and garage. The house has 2 parking places of own property next to the villa. A nice garden on the back of the villa provides a great outdoor dining area in the summer or a romantic Christmas area in the winter. 11 tries are limiting the garden in all its perimeter. Downtown Reykjavík is just a 10 minutes drive and from the villa it’s short to walk to the nature valley of Fossvogur, a perfect place for hiking, biking, bird-watching or for a picnic. All the most beautiful villas of Reykjavik are located in this valley.
The villa can serve as a great base for various day trips outside of Reykjavík, such as the popular Golden Circle , or to the Geysers area, the Iceberg-lagune, to the horse riding facilities and to the thermal lake of the Blue Lagune. Golf clubs are also very near. Football and Tennis are available in the valley, just few minutes away from the house.
We can provide any assistance and give good tips to enjoy a nice holiday in Iceland and find the most affordable way to visit the country. We are a married couple Italian and Icelandic and we share the local knowledge of the country and the 'Italian' approach to get good deals and great service.
We have also gained with the time a very good experience about restaurants, cafe's, bar and club's. We can also organize local cooking and special catering service with the great Icelandic lamb and the fresh local fish cooked in the 'icelandic way'.
We speak fluent English, German, Italian, Icelandic and Spanish.
Please note : - Extra fee may apply if the end of stay cleaning will be during the weekend, because in Iceland there is a strict extra cost per hour during the week ends and holidays. - Extra fee may apply for booking of 1 night only during peak periods of the year.

Communication with owner was flawless and speedy. House is clean and has all you need. 10 min drive to downtown. Easily holds 6-7 guests. Recommend for sure
We had a short trip to Iceland and stayed here, the house was really comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need for a home away from home. It is only a 10 min drive to the centre of Reykjavík and really easy to get on the main roads for travelling around.
We enjoyed our stay and Marco was a terrific host. He provided lots of information and recommendations for an easy stay. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, walkable and only 10 short minutes to downtown by car or 7-minutes to Sky Lagoon or the beach. I would recommend and stay here again. The rental is up one flight of stairs to the main level. The ground level is a separate apartment and the rental listing is for the upper two floors and requires 14-stairs to access.
Marco and his family provide a warm and welcoming accommodation for a large family to come enjoy Iceland. Their home is beautiful and they are wonderful hosts.
Family of 8, perfect. Easy accessible to explore the wonders of Iceland. House had everything you need to make your stay like home, expresso machine well used, highly recommended, thank you Marco
This home is modern and lovely. There are two full baths which was a big bonus for us. The host was very forthcoming with all the information we needed and provided many tips for finding great places to see while we visited. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. An excellent home away from home.
Great location! You can get on the highway quickly and getting to the centre is no problem. Lots of room for everyone. Not at all flexible on check-in/check-out times, which was stressful as we were a group of people with different flight times, but overall, it was a good place to stay.
The property was nice, but the water smelled horrible.

Dear Philip, maybe you are not aware that in all the houses in Iceland the hot water ia natural and it is coming from the geothermical source. Therefore the water keep the natural mineral quality , including the sulfur, which has a typical unusual odor, but is anyway absolutely safe and excellemt for the skyn. The blue lagoon is based on the same concept
It was clean and walking distance to downtown. But, the best part for our family was it had the best dark shades of any place we stayed. We all got a great night sleep!
Wonderful experience from the start to the end. Very helpful and responsive.
The house was perfect for us and the beds very comfortable, thank you for opening your home to us!
The house was perfect for our needs. It was very spacious and comfortable. It was warm and welcoming.
The house was also well equipped. The only addition I would suggest would be a drier although we actually did not need this for our stay.

This is a fantastic home with plenty of room - perfect for our family of five. The two entertaining areas were great and the kitchen very well equiped. The neighboorhood is quiet and there's a beautiful park just down the street. The grocery store was five minutes away and great restaurants only a ten minute drive. Our hosts gave us lots of information about what to do in Iceland and we thouroughly enjoyed our vacation there!
The house was overall clean and as described and had plenty of space for 7 people. On the negatives, one of the bedrooms was missing a fitted sheet. The curtains were somewhat, but not completely effective at blocking evening sunlight. The dishwasher had leftover food stuck in the bottom when we arrived. Hosts charged a surprise "weekend cleaning fee" despite checking out on a Wednesday.

week end labour cost has an extra charge in Iceland. This is stated by law. It is clearly written in the presentation of the house. Unfortunately for check in/out in the week-end there is an extra fee aligned with the icelandic cost of work for extra time in the week end.
My friends and I were very pleased with the house. It was perfect for a group of 6 and looked even better than the pictures. The one thing I would caution future travelers is we were charged an additional fee (for staying one night) after we made our initial payment, which we felt obligated to pay as the booking was nonrefundable. Hopefully there will be more transparency in the future.

Thanks for Your feedback.
The change was just done because of 1 night stay only instead of a longer period.

Landsmót long weekend pre- horse trek
Great location for our visit. Having 4 bedrooms was perfect. 2 bathrooms great - upstairs tub missing drain plug. Kitchen needs some love in terms of organizing and repairing appliances and kitchen tools. (Need flat bottom coffee filters instead of cone - I couldn’t find at grocery store). Great space though. Had breakfast at home otherwise we were out. Excellent walk to park and to the geothermal beach!

great size house and great location
Loved the house layout and location, however the house was not very clean at all. The coffee maker was broken, their was mold in the kitchen and upstairs shower. The smoke detector was missing the cover and had no batteries in it!! I was surprised how there was no dishwasher soap. garbage bag liners or any extra towels. Plus, the door knobs were broken on all of the bedrooms upstairs. The address number on the house was missing, too.I felt like this house could have a ton of potential. It just needs some serious cleaning and a few things fixed and repaired. This was our third VRBO in Iceland and it wasn't on par with the other houses even though they were all the same rating .

Dear Gretchen,
many thanks for your reccomandations.
It is the first time we have a comment about the cleaning of the house, usually our guests are all very happy with it and this has always been a priority for us.
Towels were available (2 for each person), if a guest need more of them usually he has to take care of it.
Dishwasher soap is a consumable that the customer has to buy, if it finished.
We will anyway take in good consideration your comments and I hope to see you again !!

No trampoline, playstation games or dryer.
This will be my first negative review ever on VRBO but I feel like I had to mention this. My kids were very disappointed when there was no trampoline or games for the playstation as listed in the description. . Also, the owner was not the best when it came to communication. It took several hours to respond when I had questions about the house. This house has no dryer and there is no tv to watch downstairs, only a dvd player with several old movies. I also found it a little odd that there was so many family pictures all of the house. It felt like I was staying in someone’s family home instead of a rental. The washing machine was not user friendly, so it would’ve been nice if there was some instructions to follow being that there were 30 different options on how to wash in a different language. The children’s bikes were very rusted and unusable and none of the bikes had air in the tires. I would be happy to stay here again but only for half the price.

Dear Christa,
many thanks for your review.
Let me reply, because this is the first time we got some complaints :
1) the trampolines is in the garage and it had to be just assembled, as every guest are doing if they need it
2) playstation is an hardware. , you need of course your own games to play with it....
3) dryer has never been advertised. we have the washing machine
4)of course the tv is working downstair, just with the national channels and I have informed you about it with my email upon your arrival
5) family pictures in a house are normal. we are an happy family and we are proud of it !!
6) the bikes need always to get air in the wheels and we have a very good pump for it in the garage
Regarding the price, you will never find a property of 270 mq at this price and with this great facilities in Reykjavik..
All the other reviews confirm this.
We are therefore in total disagreement with your comments , but we are anyway inviting you to come back at any time..
ciao

The house is BEAUTIFUL! It's in the perfect location, it is VERY clean and well-kept. Marco and his wife are amazing folks. They're very communicative, and they did everything they could to make sure our stay was fabulous. We came with a family of 6, and we had plenty of room. Takk takk to Marco and his wife! We'll be back again, and we'll look forward to another stay at your lovely home!

Aussen hui

Dear Thomas,
I think your review is for another house and not for our.
We never advertised any Sauna or Pool in the house, probably you you are misunderstanding with other properties.
We dont have any broken appliances.
we dont have any foldable bed.
You were 10 people and you paid 40 euro each all included inb the high season......is this a bad price ?
I dont think that the other guest who are giving 5 stars are stupid.....
We dont accept this review and we dont think you are referring to our house.
The location on this very spacious we'll equipped home worked exceptionally well for all our day excretions that we had planned. I would definitely stay here again.
