Casa dos Arrábidos - Rural Tourism<br><br>Once a simple Franciscan monastery, Casa dos Arrábidos has been a rural tourism property / country house since 2004, situated in the midst of a lush garden in the centre of Torres Novas.<br>It features 5 bedrooms with private bathrooms, central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge with a pool table, television, and a fireplace, as well as a playroom for children. There is also a pleasant outdoor pool, a garden, a vegetable garden, an orchard, and a small self-sustaining pond. <br><br>Come experience the harmony and tranquility that have reigned here for over 400 years.<br><br>At the far end of the property, you’ll also find a chapel with a well dating back to the time of the Arrábidos friars who once lived here, and wallsadjacent to our property, the Chapel of Saint Anthony, where we highlight the beautiful 18th-century tiles depicting the lives of Saint Francis and Saint Anthony.<br>Our guests have access to all the areas described above.<br><br>The owners reside on the property in a separate area and their own home.<br><br>We are available to advise our guests on the region’s cultural, sporting, tourist, and culinary offerings. <br><br>Casa dos Arrábidos is located in the heart of Torres Novas, right in the centre of Portugal, 23 km from Fátima, 25 km from Tomar, 36 km from Santarém, 38 km from Leiria, 40 km from Batalha, 64 km from Nazaré, and 98 km from Lisbon.<br>Local highlights include Almourol Castle, the Serra de Aires e Candeeiros Natural Park, the Dinosaur Footprints Natural Monument, the Paul do Boquilobo Nature Reserve, the Lapas Caves and the source of the Alviela River, and the Centro Ciência Viva with its carstoscope.<br>We have local public transport and car hire services available.<br>We have one or two bicycles on the property that we can lend to guests.<br>We have arrangements with local experts for horseback riding, canoeing, birdwatching, and hiking.<br>You can park your car in the free public car park next to the Santo António Chapel on Antão Mogo de Melo Street.<br><br>Casa dos Arrábidos offers its guests five rooms, all with private bathrooms—3 double rooms and 2 twin rooms (seven standard beds)—accommodating a total of 10 guests. <br><br>All children are welcome. A child under 3 years of age will be accommodated at no additional cost.<br>We can also provide extra beds. A child up to 15 years of age will be charged 15 euros. Above that age, the rate is 25 euros per person/extra bed/night. The maximum number of extra beds/cots per room is one.<br><br>When renting the entire house (including access to the kitchen), breakfast is not served. Bread can be provided—starting at 8:30 a.m.—as long as it is requested in advance. We can also provide items produced on the property (eggs, seasonal fruit, and jam).<br>When guests have access to the kitchen, they are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and tidying it, as well as for disposing of trash and waste in the public bins located outside the property (next to the chapel).<br><br>A washing machine is available for use for a fee of 5&#8364; per load.<br>Bathroom towels will be changed every three days. Upon request, we will clean the room and bathroom at that time. Bed linens in the bedrooms will be changed weekly. <br>The hosts live on the property and have occasional access to some of the common areas (kitchen, living/dining room, patio, gardens, and pool), primarily to ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of the entire property.<br>Meals are not permitted in the pool area, nor is the use of glass cups or jugs in that area of the property.<br>Casa dos Arrábidos is neither a hotel nor a short-term rental. It is a traditional rural tourism property where the owners share the experience of living there with their guests. <br>
