About this property
Stunning One bedroom Cottage in El Raso
A cosy 1 bedroom, air conditioned, semi-detached cottage with Living/dining room/kitchenette and separate Bathroom with walk-in shower set in a natural environment. The Kitchen is complete with all that is necessary for you to have a self sufficient stay. This cottage, which is close to the village of 'El Raso' on the southern slope of the peak of 'Almanzor' is perfectly situated for exploring the areas of the 'Valle del Tietar', the 'Gredos regional park' and the area of 'La Vera' in 'Extremadura'. The town of 'Madrigal de La Vera is only a 4km walk away.
The Casitas 'Rabilargo', 'Oropendola' and 'Abejaruco' at Finca La Sayuela are located within the regional park of the 'Sierra de Gredos', the park is approximately 862 km² where there are some of the most spectacular landscapes to be found throughout the whole of Spain.
We currently offer three fully equipped cottages, two with 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom cottage. they each have a comfortable living room, separate bathroom and fully equipped kitchen along with TV and free wifi, two are located at the top of the Finca on a concrete driveway with parking adjoining the cottages, Rabilargo (2 bedroom) is a semi-detached cottage with adjacent parking.
The views from the Finca are spectacular; to the north us we have the magnificent splendour of The Sierra de Gredos with the ‘Pico de Almanzor’ @2592m watching over us. This peak is within walking distance from the casitas although not for the faint hearted. From the south we can see as far as 100km to the mountains of ‘Las Villuercas’ and Toledo across the ‘Campo Arañuelo’.
A nature lovers’ paradise with an abundance of birds and butterflies to keep even the keenest of naturalists occupied for hours on end. The habitat within only a short distance from the Finca covers grassland plains, Dehesa (Holm Oak woodland); the reservoirs of ‘Navalcan’ and ‘Rosarito’ are connected by the River Tietar, one of the great rivers of central Spain. The landscape then rises through mixed broad leafed woodland and scrubland finally being topped off by moorland heath and the high mountain topography of the ‘Sistema Central’ of Spain.
Within the extensive gardens (10,000m²) there is enough space to find a quiet spot to read a book, relax in the shade or dip in the pool on a hot day.

About the host
Hosted by Host

Keith and Jane Hamilton both keen naturalists, fell in love with the area around Candeleda back in 2015 while on a walking holiday. It has taken 5 years for us to realise our dream to purchase a fabulous property from where we can welcome guests for them to also enjoy all that the area has to offer. The property is rustic but is in fact only 20 years old so has a fairly modern construction.
