Wasn't expecting to discover a gem at such short notice!

Memory of my evening is a little hazy as I was attending a wedding reception in the evening but one thing is for sure, Blue Star House left a wonderful impression on me.

Home (by the sea) away from home with a chance to meet lovely and interesting international guests!

Had a wonderful time at the Guesthouse which was meeting and exceeding our expectations. Clean comfortable rooms, clean large kitchen and living room (downstairs) with everything one could possibly need. Our aim to have a chance to speak English was met when we talked to the other guests while everyone was cooking or eating in the kitchen. The location is excellent for visiting the seaside, exploring Southsea or visiting the university (20 minute walk). Lovely posh youth hostel!

Good quality accommodation, exactly as described, complemented a great reunion weekend.

A single room, clean and warm, newly furnished and decorated. No frills (who needs them?), but absolutely nothing to complain about. The communal facilities on the ground floor looked good, although I didn't use them. For an un-staffed site, the key pad access is a simple and ideal means of letting you come and go at will.

I actually stayed for 14 nights, 13 of which were booked through an online agency. I was a little dubious when I learned it was a self service hotel, but any doubts I had were soon removed when I arrived. My room was comfortable and had everything I could want. The kitchen facilities were amazing and bright they even have a huge laundry room should you need on wash and dry and 'smalls' whilst you stay. There is also a large lounge with big screen TV and comfortable seating. Well done

Great but I won't be getting a wet room fitted

3 night stay for a country music festival at the pier which was within easy walking distance. Road was quiet and I had no problem with noise. Didn't need to park as I used public transport. Local bus stops were nearby as were the local shops, restaurants and pubs. Stylish communal areas which I didn't use as I was out and about most of the time. Room was a good size and everything that I wanted. Room had a wet room style shower room which was not to my personal taste but did the job.
