I can't describe the apartment any better than the Tina Turner hit "Simply the Best". r
The apartment is unique, beautifully furnished and superbly equipped. Charlotte, the owner, has obviously put a huge amount of time and effort into creating a "home from home", with beautiful period touches. During our stay, nothing was too much trouble for Charlotte. I really can't express my gratitude enough for her understanding at a difficult time for us.

We enormously enjoyed staying in this beautiful and well provided apartment.
We loved the decor and detailing and the things that were left for us in the kitchen were very thoughtful.

Great night's sleep
Visiting daughter for a birthday party but their house was full. How are we going to tell her that we are going to stay here from now on ?

An oasis of calm close to the centre of the city
We were meeting friends for dinner in Newcastle and we thought we would make an evening of it without the need to drive. We loved the apartment, beautifully appointed with much up-cycled and sustainable fixtures and fittings. Excellent coffee shop just around the corner in what felt like an up and coming bohemian suburb of Newcastle.

I am your host Charlotte. I was formerly an engineering lecturer at Newcastle University and am currently a Degree Apprentice Coach at Northumbria University. I also have a passion for interior design, antique furniture, DIY and sewing. My husband Doug is a secondary school history and politics teacher and private tutor, and is also a font of local knowledge on live music, where to drink and eat and interesting events. We live a few streets away with our two children.

We try to be environmentally sustainable without compromising on quality. The apartment is largely furnished with locally sourced and reused furniture and fittings. Our energy comes from the green energy supplier Bulb. We use Out of Eden eco towels and duvets and our bed linen is dried naturally. All of our rated appliances have energy efficiency ratings of at least A, and we use energy-efficient LED bulbs. We provide toiletries in refillable dispensers and eco-friendly cleaning and laundry products, with containers refilled at the nearby Honey Tree organic health food store. Waste is separated for recycling and we use compostable bin bags.
