About this property

Sophisticated and Cozy Carriage House in Prospect Newtown

Come be our guests in our cozy carriage house in Longmont's eclectic and funky Prospect Newtown. Dwell Magazine called Prospect "America's Coolest Neigborhood." We couldn't agree more!

The tree-lined streets are filled with interesting architecture, funky colors and wonderful people. We have parks with hammocks, restaurants, bars, boutiques, salons, a multitude of ways to exercise, and so much more all just a short walk from the front door. And Denver, Boulder, Estes Park and Colorado skiing are just a short drive away.

Our carriage house is designed and equipped to be your home away from home. With comfortable furnishings, luxury bedding, a well-appointed kitchen, a spacious desk, a large-screen tv, you will have everything you need to work, play and relax. This comfortable, quiet and sophisticated space has been designed above our detached garage with no shared walls and overlooking a private park. It is accessed by a single flight of interior stairs. A private parking space is provided steps from the front door.

Small dogs will be considered on a case-by-case basis with a $125 pet fee. This fee is absolutely NON-NEGOTIABLE. We do not allow cats and humbly request that you leave your large dogs at home. Pets are NOT ALLOWED on the furniture and must be crated when in the space alone.

Any dog that arrives without prior notice and authorization will result in a $250 fee in addition to the $125 standard pet fee. You must provide proof of medical necessity for any service animal and provide specific information about the pet's official role. If you cannot provide this information, your pet will be subject to the standard pet fee of $125.

What a lovely apartment
Perfectly appointed, cleverly maximizing space, with lovely taste. Cool neighborhood architecture, in a planned development with easy walking on leafy streets to local coffee shop and restaurants. An excellent place to stay.

Chad and I have spent the last 29 years working together, the last 27 years married to one another, and the last 20 years as business partners. We have raised 2 amazing kids--a son and a daughter--who are both grown and on their own. As we face an empty house, our wanderlust is reawakening. Even though we live at the foot of the Rocky Mountains--one of the most beautiful places on Earth--we are excited to begin bouncing around the world. We hate to travel like tourists! We want to be where the locals live, eat and play. We are considerate guests (our mothers both taught us to leave a place better than you found it) and attentive hosts. While we like to travel with a plan, it is held with loose hands to make room for unexpected discoveries. We don't like to pack too many places into any one trip because we like to linger. We love meeting new people--people who may not share our views (but will be respectful of them) or our experiences--because nothing can beat a slow delicious dinner with good wine and intelligent conversation!

Why they chose this property

Chad is a Boulder native. Linda grew up outside of Chicago but claimed Colorado as her future home at the age of 7. After 10 years of living in Phoenix, we joyfully returned to the shadows of the Rocky Mountains and have been in living in Longmont since 1999. In 2012 we began looking for a house that could accommodate large crowds because we love filling our home with people. This amazing neighborhoods and our much-loved home fit the bill. The carriage house was the cherry on top! Prospect is absolutely the most amazing place to live--filled with diverse people, incredible architecture and plenty of quirky charm. We have designed and appointed our carriage house to be a welcoming and inviting place for guests both new and old.

What makes this property unique

There are few places in the world where you can find urban sophistication and amenities backing up to horse pastures and with unadulterated views of some of the most breathtaking mountain views in the world. Prospect is such a place! We are centrally located with easy access to Denver, Boulder, and Rocky Mountain National Park Our Carriage House offers a cosy yet sophisticated retreat after fun days of activities.
