In Laurissilva Forest, Casa do Lanço -Carvalho

Casa do Lanço is located in a vineyard property of about 25.000m2 and is in a transition zone between the Laurissilva forest and the agricultural lands of São Vicente. On the vineyard terraces we can see the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira Wine.

The property is inserted in a set of houses where you can find several gardens with centenary trees, a large oak tree over 250 years old stands out. According to several historians, this oak is one of the first trees planted in Madeira Island. Many endemic species of Laurissilva such as Madeira laurels, vinháticos, barbusans and laurels can be found on the property.

The house has a simple, rural and functional decoration, doing justice to history but with all the comfort for the guests. The property has three bedrooms, two with double bed, one with two single beds and all rooms with private bathroom. The spacious living room has a fireplace where you can enjoy the conviviality of your family or friends. Next to the house, there is an annex, a completely renovated old cabin that can accommodate two more people.

Inside the property you can enjoy a walk by the river, the gardens or the yard outside, which allows you to have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the housekeeper, Irene. In addition to breakfast, you can order the famous bread rolls or the caldo da romaria soup. During your stay you can take the opportunity to participate in the viticulture process, at the time of harvest, or purchase the wines available in the house.

Area

The house is located in the north area of the island, more precisely in Rosário, parish of the municipality of São Vicente. Because it is located in a more isolated area, there is no services or commerce in the vicinity of the property. In the village of São Vicente, ten minutes by car, you will find local shops, restaurants, supermarket and pharmacy.

Near the house you have access to trails and levadas, where you can enjoy walking and exploring our fantastic island.

The city of Funchal is 45 minutes away by car.

Getting around

The best option to get home will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport. If you rent a car, any navigation application will find the street.

We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.

Other observations
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
- Cleaning during the stay is carried out weekly, as well as changing clothes, towels and consumables. If you want extra cleaning, the service will be charged separately at an affordable price. For stays of less than seven nights, weekly cleaning or changing clothes and replacing consumables will not be carried out.

ATTENTION
Please note that the property does not have a laundry room. However, there is the possibility of requesting a laundry service, carried out by our cleaning team, at an extra cost and paid in cash directly to them. For more details or to arrange this service, please contact us during your stay.
