Villa lago 1853

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would never rent through this company again. When we arrived at the house everything was good until entering the laundry room to find a roach on the wall then another one downstairs. We emailed the company to let them know we wanted someone to spray and they asked if there were kids in the house and because there were they told us the stuff they use isn’t safe for kids for 24hrs. We told them we would be gone all day the next day and to spray. No one came out. We emailed again and also called. They wanted pictures of the roaches. By this time we had seen 6 roaches but had taken pics of two of them. I sent them the pics we had and they made a comment about how we said we had seen 6 but only sent two pics. I responded by saying “I’m sorry I didn’t take pics of all of them”. They finally came out 2 days later from the initial time we contacted to spray with some stuff you can get at Walmart. Besides the roach problem we also had issues with both gold carts. I know it states in your contract that they may not be available but this is the reason most people would rent this property. We had 11 guests staying and that was our main reason. The 4 seater isn’t even legal to drive since there is no horn no turn signals and no seat belts. The 4 seater was also not safe to drive after finding out the back was secured with some bolts and zip ties. The owner of the property did not want the maintenance on site to fix the issues so there were several times we were stuck without a golf cart because of that. Overall all guest that stayed here were very dissatisfied with the property and would not stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was better than described. Comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. Staff with My Vacation Haven were very helpful with some “glitches” along the way. Our group of 4 adults and 2 children had plenty of room to relax and enjoy our get away vacation. The use of the very cool 6 seater golf cart was very helpful. I would recommend this rental.

A TAD DISAPPOINTED

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First let me start by saying this is our 6th stay with MVH in this area. The first few years we stayed in the same rental, but we have since had to change due to that property selling. This was our first stay at Villa Lago. We have had 1-2 maintenance calls total over the last 6 years, this year we had 5. We had issues with one golf carts making a loud popping noise while driving it and the back seat of the other was missing a screw making it unsafe to travel on. The popping could not be fixed while we were there but the screw issue was resolved. The listing also stated that the house slept 11 (it has since been changed). It stated there was a sofa sleeper in the living room. Upon looking at the photos ahead of time, I used the chat feature to assure that was true as the couches did not look like sofa sleepers. I was assured they were. We got there, and there were no sleeper sofas in site. Meaning 2 guests had to sleep on an air mattress all week (provided by MVH). Not ideal, but we made it work. The AC stopped working twice. It took a second call to MVH to get someone out there (I used the text feature at 8am and after lunch had still not heard from them so I called). The ice dispenser on the fridge had to be fixed by a repair man, the garage door opener had to have the batteries replaced, and the grill outside would not light and required maintenance as well. (we tried fixing most of the small issues ourselves before contacting maintenance). The home itself is beautiful and the maintenance team was professional and great at what they do. The location was great if you will be visiting the wharf, but it is quite a ways to the beach. The view of the golf course was beautiful. Overall I think we just had a rough go round this time. Hopefully all of these small issues were fixed for the next guests and they had a terrific visit!!
