Peter and Rosemary have lived in the Alentejo for many years and very much enjoy the local culture, wonderful landscapes, delicious food and wines, warm and sunny climate and the unique castles and villages of Marvão and Castelo de Vide, just voted the best place to live in Portugal 2016.

Why they chose this property

the most beautiful and unspoilt area and just the perfect place to get away from it all.
we grow our own olive oil for us and our guests, and have a flock of black sheep and two horses.
Guests here can enjoy exploring the olive groves and woodlands as well as a large area of wild rocky land for the more adventurous.
followed by a glass of local wine or beer by the pool.
what more do you want?

What makes this property unique

we love the walking on ancient tracks surrounded by totally unspoilt scenery. also amazing wildlife and flowers and exciting birds (over 70 species seen here).
this valley, Vale de Rodam, has a very special view of Marvão castle on its craggy mountain.
peace and quiet, but very easy to get to Marvão and Castelo de Vide by car or by foot on ancient tracks.
also Spain is only 10 mins away to enjoy a change of culture and tapas!
no wonder our guests keep coming back and want to buy property here!
