LE CASTELLET - Apartment MARIUS, with a surface of 120 sqm, is located at the back of the Mas du Galantin and occupies a portion built between the 16th and the 19th century. The place hosting the well-equipped kitchen is the oldest unit of the farmhouse and very charming. All walls of the apartment are painted in the tradition with warm colors and all furniture is painted in the Provence style. Fabrics are from “Les Olivades”, a very famous Provençal factory from Tarascon.
The large living/dining room with a table for 6 people is the masterpiece of Marius with its panoramic view and its large fireplace. There are three sleeping rooms of which two preserved the proportions of the ancient times (one with a double bed and one with two single beds) and one is mansard-roofed (can be use with a double or two single beds).
There are two private terraces: one lies at the shade of a typical Provençal pergola furnished with a wrought iron table for 6 persons. It overlooks the peaceful neighborhood on one hand and a part of the swimming-pool on the other. The other is adjacent to the kitchen and is furnished with a comfortable lounge.
Apartment Marius as the other three units has full access to the pool, the parking and the garden.
MAS DU GALANTIN - A 16th century Vineyard Farm (Mas Provençal), not far from the superb medieval village of Le Castellet, at 10 minutes driving distance from Bandol and the beaches:
charm and authenticity in the homeland of novel writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol. We offer you to share the unique atmosphere left by our ancestors in 3 charming Provence style apartments and a historical cottage for 2-8 persons. All 4 carry names of characters from Pagnol’s “Trilogie Marseillaise” and each of them has its own personality.
They all have private shaded terraces equipped with a barbecue or a plancha grill and private entrances. They have in common: a large swimming pool (11 x 5,5 m) on a property of 2.500 sqm facing the vineyards, our house mountain "Gros Cerveau" and a large private parking. They are all equipped with free wireless internet.
A dream of peaceful and untouched surroundings, where the easiness of living and the famous «Provençal accent» cherished by Marcel Pagnol himself persist. Here, the vineyards of the world-famous Bandol and the bronze colored olive-trees are deployed as far as the eye can see.
Mas du Galantin was first mentioned in the official books in the year 1550. It has been extended subsequently over the centuries and reached its actual size in 1897. Historically the property served as vineyard farm to the vine producing domain. It was only in the beginning of the nineteen sixties that both were sold to separate owners and became “Mas du Galantin” (the historical house) and “Domaine Le Galantin” (the vineyard).
We had the chance to become the happy owners of the Mas in 2003. When visiting the first time, we fell in love with the situation, the historic building and felt very good vibes at the property.
We undertook over the years a series of renovations and created the parking and the garden. We created the 3 apartments in the main house – César (145 sqm, sleeping 8), Marius (120 sqm, sleeping 6) and Fanny (90 sqm, sleeping 4) were born. We transformed the cottage at the pool into a cozy apartment – the birth of Panisse (30 sqm, sleeping 4)
Our guests regularly confirm our impression of our first visit – the good vibes at Mas du Galantin. They appreciate the multi-family environment. Many times, we observe children making new friends during their stay at Mas du Galantin and parents having a good time together during their holidays. Many guests are coming back – the biggest compliment we can expect.

Wohnung nicht bezogen und abgereist
Wir haben die Wohnung nach einem ersten Rundgang nicht bezogen und sind noch am selben Abend wieder abgereist. Die eingestellten Fotos entsprechen nicht dem angetroffenen Zustand der Wohnung. Auch die Möblierung im Wohnzimmer war anders als auf den Bildern zu sehen. In der Küche fanden wir einen verschmutzten, mit Essensresten verschmierten Geschirrständer vor. Die Tischdecke im Wohnzimmer war verklebt. In der Küche und den übrigen Räumen gab es viele Spinnweben. In der ganzen Wohnung roch es muffig. Wir hatten die Wohnung vergangenen September gebucht und bis jetzt darauf gehofft, wenigstens einen Teil der Mietsumme vom Vermieter zurückzubekommen. Vergebens. Wir bekamen nicht einmal die Reinigungskosten erstattet. Eine solche Enttäuschung haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Bei den anderen Wohnungen des Vermieters finden sich z.T. ähnliche Bewertungen. Das haben wir erst im Nachhinein gesehen. Der Vollständigkeit halber: Von außen sind Haus und Anlage wirklich schön: ein toller Garten, schöne Sitzmöglichkeiten und Pool. Für uns hat es das Innere aber nicht aufgewogen.

Sehr schönes Mas in den Weinbergen
Zum zweiten Mal waren wir mit unserer fünfköpfigen Familie im Mas Galantin Das sagt ja schon alles. Wir fanden zur Begrüßung eine saubere Wohnung Marius und eine Flasche Rosé vor. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung Marius ist sehr gut, besonders die zwei Kühlschränke und ein grosser Gefrierbereich! Es gibt zwar keine Klimaanlage, dafür genügend Ventilatoren. Der Pool ist traumhaft, hier können Kinder auch ohne Vorschriften einfach Mal toben, auch mit Luftmatratze oder Schnorchel. Die kleine Terrasse draussen hat inzwischen zwei kleine Outdoorcouches ( nicht nur Liegen, wie auf dem Foto), sehr angenehm. Der Essbereich draussen mit Grill ist super. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter ist sehr gut, unkompliziert und bei Anfragen gibt es eine schnelle Reaktion, ein Hausmeister hilft vor Ort weiter. WLan funktioniert gut. Im benachbarten Weingut einkaufen, auf den Märkten bummeln, Bandol oder das nette Städtchen Castellet, alles in wenigen Autominuten erreichbar. Der 20 min entfernte Sandstrand in St. Cyr hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein toller Urlaub und die beste Unterkunft, die wir bisher an der Cote d'Azur hatten. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Ce mas est très bien situé compte tenu de la proximité de Bandol, Sanary etc... La piscine est un atout fort appréciable au sein de cette propriété. Endroit merveilleux pour se ressourcer. Très belle batisse du 16ème siècle

I am originally from Provence and Mas du Galantin was my first step towards returning back to my home turfs.

What was first a hobby, became a profession with the acquisition of a second Mas in Bandol. Renovating houses is one of my passions.

Our son is another one. He is a very lively little boy and likes to visit Mas du Galantin.

What I like most about the rental business is the many encounters it allows. Meeting our guests and seeing them happy during their holidays gives me great satisfaction!

Why they chose this property

I always dreamt of owning an old Mas. Mas du Galantin is the realisation of my dream.

The renovation of the Mas took all in all about 2 years and I continuously improve the quality and the comfort of the premises. To preserve the style of Provence is very important for me.

I am a fan of gardens and put all my love into the garden of Mas du Galantin. And here again the Provence touch is important as I use only plants from our region.

From the first visit on, I felt very positive vibrations at Mas du Galantin and many of our guests confirm me this.

What makes this property unique

Mas du Galantin is a very family friendly place - a place of encounters at the crossroads of Southern Provence.

You are close to the beaches, the pulsing life and the tourist attractions but when coming back to the Mas your relaxation time starts immediately.
