Perfect host, lovely accomodation. Everything very clean and well catered for, comfy beds and well equiqed kitchen. We were a family of 3 couples so 2 bathrooms was just right. Any more guests than that we felt it needed a third bathroom, perhaps one
upstairs. We loved the quirkiness of the panelled walls and the fact that you didnt know there were hidden doors. Hot tub was lovely though garden area needed attention. On the whole would recommend Grenville house as it was an easy drive to main attractions/towns and was very quiet.
This was a 50th birthday that turned into a disaster.
Full duration - no swimming pool, as clearly advertised, including that of the joining instructions sent days prior to our arrival.
Hot tub - not switched on. Hot tubs take on average 1hr per degree to heat up. That's 40hrs we couldn’t use it until it got to temperature.
Night 1 - we had planned a BBQ. We couldn’t find the BBQ. Host told us it was in the courtyard. It wasn’t. When then found in the garage it was covered in mould. We have photos.
2 nights without heating rendering children having to sleep in the lounge to stay warm by the fire. Adults having to get up regularly to re stock the fire.
Electricity out for 1 evening and the most of the next day, leaving us to try and fix it for most of one evening to get heating, basic power for the kitchen and WIFI. All food in the freezer we had, had to be binned. We were unable to cook any breakfast for anyone bar on the hob.
We then had to spend time trying to improvise with extension leads to try and get basic power provisions.
Most of Sunday morning wasted being in for the electrician.
Heating banging in one of the bedrooms all night, keeping 1 couple up. We have a video of the noise.
Tumble dryer not working. Unable to dry towels etc from the beach. The tumble dryer was needed as the heating wasn’t working and neither were the towel rails, which weren’t working on the electric emersion either.
The building and facilities were lovely. It was cold when we got there but it was nice and quiet
A welcome escape from the everyday routine. Facilities were fantastic it was cold when we got there but once we warned up it was comfortable and we had everything we needed
Enjoyable stay. We had an issue with Cot which was very mouldy on the underside. We cleaned but could not use as it was rather smelly. Otherwise all good
Amazing property that has been refurbished and looks stunning. Has everything you need for a group holiday. Very well stocked and very comfy beds. Like a tardis inside the only downside is that there are only two bathrooms and one is en suite. The pools and hot tub are a great addition as well. Would definitely recommend.
Grenville House is extremely well appointed, with the enormous living/dining-room and its baronial fireplace providing the central hub around which the six large bedrooms and mezzanine TV lounge are arranged. In the backyard, the easy, efficient gas barbecue and the 6-person jacuzzi also brought great pleasure. We found everything spick, span and very clean, as well as beautifully adorned. Our only disappointment, for a midsummer visit, was the lack of any outside space to relax and eat out in, but that was well compensated by the access provided to the swimming-pools and gym in the adjacent holiday resort. Highly recommended.
