Disappointing - superficially good
We arrived to what initially looked superb.A real wow moment Fresh towels linen etc. large room and plenty of space inside. There were no instructions on how to use the cooler / heating. It was not a bespoke welcome pack. Very very basic pack. We received a bottle of wine in the fridge and two bottles of water.
We then noticed an incredible smell of mustiness in all but two bedrooms and black mould in the curtains. The place is up for planning permission application to knock down and build three residential buildings on the plot. When we arrived - the patio had huge thistles as had the garden paths; the garden overgrown with slate tiles in the stairs that had come loose and laid to one side. A wall had collapsed in the garden and the summer house was run down and full of furniture. The garden happened to be ‘tidied’ on our last day. It feels like they are happy to rent as a party house / celebration house but are not really caring for it.
There was a complete lack of comms from Wheelwrights reference people just turning up unexpectedly. Notices being stuck on the door to other trades which was like an open season to burglars to say - there is no one in the house - please come and break in! When we flagged this with them we received a very brusk non apologetic response.
Happy to provide photos and video of same. I would not recommend and will not be returning.
