You can also find Highdown Gardens, unique and beautiful gardens, which are free to the public and well worth a visit, with tea rooms and a lovely restaurant/pub.

Our lodge, built and personally run by Luca and Trina, is warm and welcoming from the moment you step through the door, filled with natural light and a home from home feeling. Luca has handmade a lot of the furniture, with things we have salvaged over the years, adding a personal touch. We aim to go above and beyond for all our wonderful guests and have created a comfortable relaxing place to unwind and enjoy your stay. Comfort is our number one goal and we have hopefully supplied everything you will need to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The open plan kitchen and living area is the heart of the home, a perfect place to entertain and cook with your family and friends. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, panini maker, cafetière, blender, Dulce Gusto coffee machine (pods provided).
There is a separate utility room with washing machine, second fridge, iron and ironing board, first aid kit, sewing kit, vacuum cleaner, torches, clothes airer and space for your cases and coats etc.

The lounge is the ideal space to relax and unwind in, with comfy sofas to curl up on and a 50 inch smart TV with freeview, Netflix, Amazon prime and all the catch up channels.

All 3 bedrooms have dreamy, comfortable and luxurious beds with luxury Egyptian cotton bedding, all sourced and made in the UK and all bedrooms have 40” smart TVs.

Both the bathrooms are supplied with natural eco-friendly, shampoo, conditioner, body wash with Egyptian cotton towels and bathrobes provided for all guests.

About the host

We are Luca and Trina, and live on our nursery, specialising in organically grown produce, with our children and our dad. We are a family built upon Italian traditions; great food, love and a glass of vino! We have spent many years renovating our nursery and converting the old packing shed into our new family home after spending many happy years living in our lodge before converting it into our own holiday let so people can come and enjoy what we have created.
We have a great Italian emphasis on the plants we grow, how we live and strive to keep the traditions going.  We love to teach others in the way we live, a very self sufficient life. Every summer we open the greenhouses to sell our produce to the local community.
We are around as much or as little as you need us during your stay, anything we can do to make your time here more memorable just let us know before you arrive and we will always do our best to help!

Why they chose this property

Our lodge is in a rural hamlet at the top of a rural lane which leads to the open countryside.
Walk out of our gates and our rural lane turns into the National Trust South Downs public bridleway, leading you to Highdown Hill and the South Downs, perfect for walkers and cyclists or just a leisurely stroll into the countryside. Highdown Hill is famous as a Hillfort, Roman settlement and the Millers Tomb, a historical burial site. You will also find Highdown gardens, beautiful gardens with rare plants and trees, with tea rooms, and a restaurant with bar. Ferring beach is 30 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive.
