About this property

Private heated pool, quiet, short drive to historical towns, shops, wine tasting

Favreau, this holiday home is set on over 10 hectares of grounds with views. A traditional French rustique farmhouse is full of charm with a large private heated pool in a stunning, secluded countryside setting with views over vineyards and orchards. Perfect for large groups and families. Set at the end of its own driveway, this property is very private.

Accommodating no more than 10 adults, a maximum of 13 guests including children aged 18 months and over.
Within a 5-10 minute drive of the ancient Bastide towns of Monsegur (Gironde) and Duras (Lot et Garonne), both have bars, restaurants, banks, shops and supermarkets, weekly farmers markets and night market in the peak summer months.

3.5km walk via country lanes to the village of Dieulivol where there is a cafe bar which serves drinks and light snacks, by special request they can create a BBQ meal for you and you are also able to buy ice cream or a bottle of local wine.
Daily fresh bread from the post office or the cafe bar on Sundays by request.
There is also an ancient church with stunning views over the valley, there is also a grotto to discover, it's well worth the walk.

1.2km to the nearest vineyard with wine tasting.
Fun for all of the family and children of all ages, a tree adventure and climbing park is just 2km away.

The entire property and all facilities are for your exclusive use during your stay.
Please note that the mobile phone signal is a little weak inside the property. Due to the style and character of the building and grounds, Favreau is not suitable for wheelchair users.

There is an additional bathroom on the ground floor.

5. Enormous fun, children's dormitory with 6 single beds (x5 90x190cm, x1 140x190cm), large space for the children to play.
Both rooms share a bathroom on this floor with a bath, twin sinks and a separate WC.

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided. A complimentary supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more.
End of stay clean is included, although the house must be left in a reasonable condition on departure.

Kitchen/diner: The large kitchen/diner has been remodelled with high-spec solid wooden units whilst retaining the character of the house with the original floor, beamed ceiling and stunning stone fireplace. A door opens onto the garden. Facilities include Dishwasher Microwave Large fridge freezer Range style oven/hob/grill Kettle, Toaster, Nespresso, and Dualit coffee machines.
There is also a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Living room: Comfortable lounge with views over the garden and pool area. English-speaking Freesat TV and French channels, DVD Player and fireplace.

Baby facilities: 2 cots (linen provided) and 2 high chairs are available on request.

Private pool and garden: The 11m x 5m private, heated pool is central to the secluded garden flanked by 2 grand pigeonniers (not in use) whilst impressive iron gates offer a view of the adjoining vines.
The pool is heated, at certain times of the year this is charged as an extra if required, please see more information and costs at the end of this page.

The pool has corner steps, the step water depths are; 14cm, 26cm, 68cm. The pool depth is between 0.9m to 1.75m and the outer edge of the pool all around is at a depth of 0.95m. All measurements are approximate.
The pool is protected by a security alarm.

Part of a barn has been converted to a shady seating space and games area with table tennis, there is also an outside WC and shower room. Charcoal BBQ.

Natural wild gardens, mature trees and grassed areas surround the property encouraging wildlife, the neighbouring plum orchard and the vineyard are owned by this property.

Favreau is situated near the towns of Duras 10km (Lot et Garonne), Monsegur 7km (Gironde), Sainte-Foy-La-Grande 23km, Bergerac (Dordogne) is 46km, in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France.

Weekly farmers markets, summer night markets, restaurants, local adventure park and many more activities and places to visit, just a small selection below.

Coast, Beach and Water park: A freshwater lake with a sandy beach at Blasimon is just 19km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake.
Aqua Park is 42km located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park.
Aqua Fun Park near Casteljaloux is 54km. Park with a huge freshwater lake, picnic benches, walks, facilities, a man-made sandy beach, water sports, kid's play area and is great for adults also.

Visit Europe's largest sand dune 128km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself with fresh seafood from the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.

Duras Castle: The famous Chateau de Duras, 10km away. It's well worth a visit, climb to the top and see the stunning 360-degree vista.

Tea room with gardens: Jardin de Boissona has six little gardens, each with its own character. Outside and inside seating. Especially known for their teas and delicious cakes. 7km Baleyssagues near Duras.

Zip wire adventure and climbing park: Just 2km. Playground and snack bar. Des chênes toi Aventure

Boat trips: Dordogne river trips are available on traditional boats in Bergerac with Les Gabarres de Bergerac. 46km.

This private property is just for you, all facilities including the pool are for your personal private use.

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided. A complimentary supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more. End of stay clean is included, although the house must be left in a reasonable condition on departure. Taxe de Sejour (Tourist Tax) is also included.

Additional charges: Additional cleaning can be arranged and is payable locally at a charge of 15€ per hour. Logs for the fire can be purchased locally at cost from the house manager.

Open from Easter to the end of October.
**Pool heating is included in the price until 30 September 2023, 25 May - 28 September 2024, outside these dates the pool heating is 150 GBP per week, bookable in advance.

Please note specific temperatures can not be guaranteed as pool heating is influenced by weather conditions and other factors.

Dog friendly: A maximum of 2 dogs are considered on request at a charge of 65 GBP each per booking, plus an additional security bond of 250 GBP.

We understand that pets form an important part of many families and we try and cater for these requirements where possible. Where pets are allowed at the Property, they must be disclosed at the time of booking. Acceptance of pets is wholly at the discretion of the Owner/HCV and is subject to the following;
Pets must be at least 18 months old at the time of arrival.
The type, breed and age of the animal must be provided prior to booking
A maximum of 2 pets for any booking
An additional charge of 65 GBP per animal, per booking, will apply
An additional Security Bond of 250 GBP will be added to the standard Security Bond of the Property.
The Client must ensure that the Property and grounds are kept free of faeces at all times.
Pets are not allowed on any soft furnishings or in the bedrooms.
Pets are not allowed in the pool.
If additional cleaning is required at the end of the stay a charge may be deducted from the Security Bond paid.
