Northwoods Luxury - Private Lake, Gourmet Kitchen, Sauna!

Beautiful guest cabin located on 170 acres! Private lake, views, gourmet kitchen, jacuzzi bathtub, Roku, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 2 bathrooms, custom cedar sauna, hiking, cross country skiing, biking and more. Located 30 miles west of Hayward and 12 miles northwest of downtown Spooner in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin.

This is a 5 star accommodation. You won't be disappointed and a great retreat in every season! In the summer and fall, enjoy the outdoor fire pit, paddle boat, canoe and row boat (with electric motor), swimming raft and trails for walking and biking. In the winter, cosy up with a good book and hot cocoa in front of the gas fireplace or enjoy the custom cedar sauna after snow shoeing or x-country skiing.

The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove and electric convection oven, and is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes - everything you need to make great meals & an outdoor Weber gas grill. There is a ROKU with YouTube TV and you can log into your favorite streaming accounts (Netflix, Amazon, HBO+, Disney+, etc), plus a DVD player and video library with classic DVDs plus wifi.

You will enjoy privacy and solitude on this 170 acre retreat with rolling hills, trees and private trails. Our comfortable cabin has beautiful hardwood floors and ceilings, maple cabinetry, natural tilework & a gas fireplace with beautiful views of nature from the open plan living space. You almost feel as if you are in a tree house.

Families or active couples will be comfortably accommodated in this cabin. Our location offers you a secluded Northwoods feel that is still close to both Spooner and Hayward and all that the area has to offer. Note - we allow 1 well behaved dog. There is a dog living on the property and friends and family may visit with their dogs. We ask your pup be leashed when right outside the guest house or when walking past the main house.

A wonderful and relaxing experience

This is the second time we stayed at this cabin. We have always enjoyed the beauty of this location. The setting is quite and peaceful. We enjoyed the great fishing, and use of the aluminium boat with the electric motor. We plan to return in the future. The host was always available if we had questions or for any problems that we might have, which we had none. Thanks for the great stay.

A magical Trip!

My two boys (10 and 14) had the most magical trip. Fishing and swimming and playing card games. The VRBO has Beautiful! Comfortable beds! Best sheets ever! Will definitely be going back!

North woods slice of heaven

We have stayed at this property several times and it just keeps getting better. If you are looking for a beautiful well maintained cabin on a private lake with plenty of room to roam and explore, look no further. We have always loved this place but this year they made it even better by adding a new stairway for easier access to the lake and they added additional slats to their upstairs deck, so our pups could be out on the deck without running off. The property owners Brenda and Heidi are very nice and even their maintenance guy, who built the new stairway to the lake is very friendly. We love everything about this place and plan on being back again next year.

Back to Nature

A wonderful cabin in a beautiful setting. It really does feel like you are in a tree house. But a very well-equipped one. The sauna was a nice extra. The deck gets morning and evening shade so we ate breakfast and dinner outside most days. You are near several bar and grills for pizza, burgers, fish fry, etc. And about 20 minutes to Spooner for great coffee at Redemption Coffee. It was a great location for seeing a lot of Northern Wisconsin, and about 2 hours to MSP. The wildlife is plentiful—deer, squirrels, hummingbirds, songbirds, and we spotted a bald eagle and a piebald fawn. Very peaceful and surrounded by trees, through which you can see the lake below. Very scenic and peaceful, a calming retreat to enjoy family time.

Lake House

The place was wonderful. Absolutely beautiful and remote. My one concern/rub was the stairs. My girlfriend has bad arthritis in her hips and knees. She had a very hard time with the 20 stairs from the entrance to the living area. If you're physically impaired this is not the place for you. The fishing in the private lake is incredible. Never seen bluegills that big or that many and lots of eager bass also but carrying the battery up and down the stairs/walk from the garage to the lake and back for charging is a young persons chore. Otherwise I absolutely loved it and at 67 years old I hope I have it in me to do it again next year.

Peaceful Loacation, but disappointing

We were here for a long family weekend. The house is in a nice peaceful setting, however it seems that maintenance is not a big priority. The house was cleaned, but not very well. The 2nd bathroom is in the garage, not the main living area. The pier was not maintained and broke. It sank when you stepped on the first part of it so you had to walk through the water. There were two canoes, although one was non-usable, and the paddle boat was full of water/leaves/dirt so that was non-usable as well. We were able to use the row boat to get some fishing in, unfortunately we caught one small bass the entire weekend. After reading everyone's reviews, we were expecting a great weekend, but were really disappointed with our stay.

Nice property!

My family and I visited this property for spring break in the middle of March. We had bad weather that served as bookends for our trip. The private drive was not cleared when we got there at check in, but we were able to make it to the house using all-wheel drive. The snow plow service came later that evening and did a fantastic job. The sauna was amazing and was a great break from the cold. The house was very clean, but found it difficult as a family of 4 to have our own space. In the middle of winter, there is not a lot to do within an hour’s drive of the place. All the “touristy” attractions were shut down. There is a bar and restaurant called What the Heck that is 3 miles north, which was a great place to go and had excellent pizza. We brought our snowshoes and cross country skis, and enjoyed using them on the lake. The property is pet friendly, and we brought our dog. The property manager’s mother lives in a house on the same private road, and it was difficult to get used to texting back-and-forth when our respective dogs needed to go outside. The place is very well-kept, clean, and tucked away in the northwest Wisconsin woods. We would definitely visit again.

Long winter’s Nap

My wife and I both work and have grown kids that weren’t around for the holidays. We decided we needed a quiet getaway to relax, hangout, and just enjoy reach other’s company. This cabin fit the bill perfectly. Great spot in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Rustic Treehouse

Rental is as described, clean, beautiful, comfortable. Home is set back a bit in the woods on a private driveway which in my opinion is ideal for privacy and overall tranquility and enjoyment. Private lake with a row boat. Lake has bass and bluegill in it. We stayed when the fall leaves were changing and it was a site to remember. Owners are kind and communicative. We will definitely be booking again.

Another Great Vacation

We've lost track of how many years we have stayed at this property. Each years are new memories made. We had wonderful weather and a fun and relaxing time. Peaceful getaway

Really lovely property next to a lovely lake. Property owner was really responsive whenever there was any issue, the kitchen was great to cook in, and the beds were really comfortable. We canoed around the lake, and it was a great way to finish up a great day. The rest of the area has a couple of cute towns, nice restaurants, and it's a fun, relaxing weekend.
