In the picturesque villa of Alt Aussee (Ausseerland) in central Austria, in the Salzkammergut region, lies the 'Villa Lynden' on the foot of the Loser mountain. The magic of Alt Aussee is already reflected in the name of the place: everything there has tradition. The salt mines, the style of the buildings, the little saturday markets, the gondola boats, the fishermen that get their Saibling fish from the crystal clear water as did their ancestors.
Guests love Alt Aussee and are as impressed by the peaceful and cozy atmosphere, as were the first 'outsiders' that arrived mid-19th century and discovered this unique health resort. Known as one of the most charming houses in the village, the Villa Lynden has been a family hunting and summer holiday house for 144 years and, just like its surroundings, appears to have been left untouched by the passing of time. With 12 sleeps and its warm family atmosphere, the Villa offers the perfect location for intimate holidays with family and friends.

The house is the last house up on the foot of the mountain the Loser, and almost completely made of wood, is fully surrounded by balconies on ground- and first floor, engravings, antique furniture, nice carpets and recently renewed bathrooms and kitchen. You can walk out the door up the mountain for a good 4 hour walk, or down the hill to the lake in 3 minutes, to enjoy a jump in, or walk around the lake for 1,5-3 hours, or walk through the village with several different restaurants, mainly run by families.

You can sit on one of the terrace chairs or by the fireplace to read a book, or enjoy your daily order of delivered fresh buns, with a cup of tea on the veranda. If you're an active site-seeer, you can make a roadtrip to many places worthwhile seeing from Hallstatt to Salzburg within the radius of 1,5 hours, bicycle to Grundlsee, or just enjoy too many (healthy) things even just Alt Aussee and its adjacent village Bad Aussee have to offer (we can send you a list of to do's & practical tips).
