Air conditioning nightmare

I had planned to stay a week at this apartment I arrived from the states with no sleep for 24 hours. Needless to say, I just wanted to relax a few hours. The property manager greeted us and the cleaning people were there but it was 89 degrees outside and hotter in the apartment. The manager reset the air but it only got hotter. We spoke several times during that day that there was still something wrong. He told us to use the remote and turn it back on We had to check into a hotel The owner called the next day and said the technician would be there by noon. At that point we had to keep our room for the second night as we were not sure the ac would be resolved. The owner admitted that the guests before us had reset the ac and blew the equipment from the basement. And that she had to pay 250 euros to fix it. That was not my fault as we were not the ones that broke the ac. I ended up leaving that day so that if the owner needed to rebook for the weekend she could. Asking for a little compensation was replied with a firm no in that she had to pay for the technician. I paid top dollar for a hotel room for the week PLUS a week at her apartment. I wasn’t being unreasonable It was not a pleasant experience unfortunately We had friends and family in 12 other apartment s throughout the city through Vrbo with very pleasant experiences. Unfortunately this owner was not easy to work with

Felt like a local

We felt like we were living with the locals. Great cafe around the corner. Very clean modern apartment walking distance 15 minutes from restaurants and shopping. Would stay again!

Location Location Location

100% great location near Piazza Popolo and the metro stop. You can walk everywhere, or take the train to get there faster. Our family of 7 had plenty of space. Great time in Rome. Cons: The 3 A/C units. The two bedroom units didn’t function well and the living-room didn’t function at all. Also, the dishwasher did not function. No problem doing dishes by hand, but a shame that the dishwasher wasn’t functioning.

Apartment canceled on us morning we arrived in Rome.

We reserved this apartment in Rome for 5 nights. It came up as available on VRBO for our dates and we booked and paid for it. There must be some calendaring issues between vrbo and international hosts as we had tried to book another apartment which appeared as available and after we booked it was immediately canceled. This apartment booking went through and it was never canceled so we assumed all was good. We got confirmations as the date got closer and another confirmation a few days before. I messaged the host the morning of the day we were arriving asking how to get the key for the apartment and then a vrbo message popped up on my phone informing me that the reservation was canceled. The host informed me that the apartment was rented and said it was a mistake w the vrbo calendar. All they needed to do was cancel the reservation 2 months prior and we would have booked another place. We were stuck in Rome with no hotel or apartment for a family of 5 in 90 plus degree heat. It was nearly impossible to find another hotel in Rome and once we did the price was triple what we expected/budgeted to pay. Very disappointing.
