Windy Ridge - 5 Bedroom Holiday Home - Oxwich

***Pool now closed over winter***

Introducing Windy Ridge, a beautifully presented cottage with its own unique charm evident in every room. This remarkable property boasts a rich history dating back to the 1840s and has undergone a luxurious refurbishment while still exuding a cozy cottage atmosphere with its preserved original features. Ideally positioned at the top of a hill in Oxwich, Windy Ridge offers breathtaking sea views and a glimpse of the stunning surrounding area.

Renowned as "the most beautiful beach in Britain" by the esteemed travel magazine, and designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Oxwich is a must-visit destination. This exceptional location paired with the spacious, well-presented, and delightfully quirky nature of Windyridge makes it the ideal holiday property. The added luxury of a heated swimming pool, available from May to September, ensures a truly indulgent stay.

Numerous outdoor seating areas invite you to sit back, relax, and soak up the breathtaking views. A charming enclosed garden at the front of the house provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying the sea vistas while dining at the table and chairs.

Upon entering through the porch, you'll find a spacious lounge where traditional aesthetics take center stage. Exposed wooden beams on the ceiling, shipwreck-inspired accents, and traditional stonework create an enchanting ambiance. The focal point of the room is a feature wood-burning stove set within a stone inglenook fireplace (only in use between October and March). Enjoy ample comfy seating and a large coffee table, perfect for cozy nights spent reveling in the wonderful atmosphere of this timeless space.

The spacious kitchen seamlessly transitions into the large conservatory, featuring a Rayburn cooker and polished granite worktops. Equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a fridge-freezer, oven and hobs, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and utensils, this inviting area allows you to prepare meals in style. The conservatory serves as a second living room, opening onto the patio area. Here, you'll find comfortable furniture, a large dining table that accommodates up to 8 people, and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living through the large Georgian-style French doors. Step outside and be greeted by a tiered patio, complete with a luxurious heated swimming pool surrounded by natural stone. This well-designed outdoor space provides ample room for relaxation, sunbathing, and al fresco dining.

After a day of poolside indulgence, retire to the delightful bedrooms. The downstairs room features a charming bunk bed, perfect for children, with a small vanity mirror and chair. Upstairs, you'll find a selection of bedrooms, each boasting its own unique and individual styling. From rooms with thematic touches to those with neutral colours that complement the space, Windy Ridge ensures a restful and inviting atmosphere for all guests.

Great location and facilities

Very nice cottage with all facilities. Excellent location in Oxwich near fabulous beaches (too many to name), lovely pubs (try the Brittania), plus lip smacking fish & chips + ice cream (Oxwich) There were slight problems with the shower (packed up & needed a rewire), and the pool (was slightly cold), plus only two bathrooms, so if the house is full some pressure there. But all-in-all we had a great time.

A happy family holiday

We had a pleasant week in the cottage. My grandchildren enjoyed the heated pool. I've given 3 stars for cleanliness. I would have given 5 if it wasn't for the fact that my granddaughter lost her teddy bear and we had to move sofas and beds to find it. We did find the teddy and a lot of detritus. The cottage needs some redecoration and maintenance. The bathroom tap came off in my hand and the bath took ages to drain. Some of the coping stones around the edge of the pool need to be recemented into place.
