This is an old family home, that hasn't been updated for holiday guests. The hosts are warm and friendly, they will come and let you in. They often pop around although always ask you first. It is like staying at a relative's spare house. Some people will find this charming others disruptive. The pool and outside space is great, very little nearby but a cheap taxi ride into Porto. Fantastic restaurant a 10 minute cab away in Rio Tinto - Ponte do Freixo.

Lovely stay for a group of girls enjoying a long weekend in Porto

The property was lovely, and clean. The host was very responsive both in the lead up to the trip, and throughout our stay - she couldn’t have done more for us.

The house was very clean and had good facilities. Washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine etc.Four main bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. Twin beds in the basement downstairs. Downstairs toilet only.Kitchen was a little small for the number of people the house sleeps but we still cooked a couple of times. The outside space is exceptional and the pool and gardens are beautiful. Fruit trees that were full of oranges and satsumas. The view over the mountains is breathtaking.Lucinia in a very attentive host and answered any queries promptly. The bus into Porto is 2 minutes up the road and takes about 30 minutes. 2.50 euros each. Uber is about 20 minutes and varies between 7 to 10.Many things to do in Porto. The house is in a very urban area and very few restaurants around. Supermarkets are readily available but very hilly area to walk. Suggest the Pingo down the hill and you can then bus or Uber it back with shopping. Overall very nice stay with our family.

Lovely hosts, well kept house

Licinia and her husband were wonderful hosts, easy to communicate with and resolving any issues promptly. The pool.ans outdoor area was great though the weather was bad during our stay so we didn't get to use it.. easy drive to Porto too! The only thing we found was the listing says spa pool and fitness centre which must be a mistake as there is not either of those available a this house.

Absolutely perfect

We loved everything about our stay. Licína was so accommodating and welcoming - she responded to all of my messages on the run up to our stay, and was extremely helpful with my requests about booking taxis in advance. She was also very flexible when it came to discussing different arrival times for members of our group. Her partner was very welcoming at check-in and took his time showing us around the property and answering all our questions. He then offered us a lift to the local supermarket when he spotted us setting off to walk there, which was really kind of him! The house is absolutely beautiful, I would say that the photos don't fully do it justice - it has stunning views of the local village which I hadn't realised from the online listing. The pool area and garden are all lovely. All the rooms are very comfortable and it is full of beautiful old furniture which gives it so much character. The water pressure and temperature was really good, which I was impressed by given we had 10 adults staying at once. The kitchen was well-equipped for hosting - we cooked on the first night and had everything we needed. We didn't use public transport from the property but calling Ubers into the centre of Porto was very easy. I would really recommend staying at this lovely property if you are a large group looking to visit Porto but also have some time and space to relax out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Thank you Licina and team!
