This was the 14th trip to Boulder Junction for me and my sister, and our absolute favorite. Firstly, the pictures do not do this gem justice. The living area was airy and inviting with a number of (very) recent improvements. The resort itself is intimate, located at the very end of the road. Our hosts provided several kayaks and a canoe which we used often to explore some of the numerous campgrounds dotted along Fishtrap Lake and the adjacent river. And the fishing—wow. We caught numerous bass, perch, panfish from the pier, even saw a large northern swim by. Tons of action for everyone at all skill levels.
In the true Northwoods fashion, there are no TV’s but plenty of games. It was exactly what we were looking for and enjoyed night after night of quality family time with my adult nephew. Dusk was a fantastic time to enjoy regular deer sightings too, including albino deer. A very special experience for first timers and veterans alike.
Of course, Jim and Kathy are the very heartbeat of Eagle’s Post. They are warm and friendly hosts available as little or much as you’d like, and made our experience a resounding 5-star. We look forward to planning our return.
