About this property
Chelsea cottage set in heart of Dorset unspoiled countryside
Chelsea Cottage is situated in the heart of the Dorset countryside in the beautiful village of Sydling St Nicholas.
Enjoy all the facilities this house has to offer in a central "chocolate box" village location, surrounded by rolling Dorset countryside set beside stream. 5 spacious bedrooms with 4.5 bathrooms, magnificent oak conservatory, 3 other receptions including games room and snug with electronic games, 55" SMART TV with electric woodburner in inglenook fireplace and a fantastic new gazebo with bar (June 2025)
Access to the property is via a covered porch from the driveway. Hall has exposed brickwork and spacious wardrobe for coats and shoes. To the left is the spacious main living room with exposed beams and brickwork. A wood burning effect fire greets you in the inglenook fireplace. This room has the SMART TV, triple aspect views and has french doors leading to the light and bright oak-framed conservatory/dining room. There is room for 10 people to enjoy leisurely meals around the dining table whilst overlooking the garden. The snug also leads off from the conservatory and has a TV, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii console and a selection of DVDs and games. The entrance hall gives access to a separate WC as well as the kitchen. Again with exposed beams and brickwork, this room has an electric oven and hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, additional undercounter fridge and freezer and dishwasher as well as numerous cooking utensils. The separate utility room leading off has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Next door is a games room with table football as well as selection of games.
Upstairs there is a stylish and spacious super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room with WC, a king-size room or an inviting twin, both also with an en-suite shower room with WC. There is one further double bedroom on this floor with sloping ceilings and a contemporary bathroom with roll-top bath, separate shower and WC. There is a king bedroom on the second floor.
Heading outside via the conservatory, you can access the lawn that backs onto the property and looks out over the hills and pastureland behind the property. This level space also has a gazebo with a rustic bar where you can enjoy sundowner drinks, plus a hot tub.
There is an optional charge of £100 for use of the hot tub.
The house is eco friendly possessing solar panels and air source heat pump water and central heating. It has an unvented system allowing for powerful showers etc!
There are beautiful walks in the area which is an area of natural beauty with SSSI nearby, you could be in any century! Approximately 25 mins from the coast with beautiful rolling countryside all around.
This is the 4th year the property has been rented out and has excellent reviews from previous guests scoring 5* consistently for comfort and location.
"Fabulous property, the best place we've ever stayed in England. Sizeable and lovely living areas, great bedrooms, kitchen large and well equipped, a bright and airy conservatory, great place for the whole family to gather"
"Lovely spacious property for a large family, all the equipment etc you could need. The village it is in was lovely and quiet and we found it very easy to visit various places around the area including the beach. "
"A lovely large house and garden. Plenty of room to get together or have some space apart! Beds were really comfortable. A nice pub down the road"
"We had a magical time at your cottage"

About the host
Hosted by Gill at Chelsea Cottage

Hello there
My name's Gill and am a proud owner of this beautiful property in a most wonderful location.
My ex and I built the property ourselves thirty years ago (even knapped all the flint!) so everything has been finished to the highest quality combining old warm charm with creature comforts. We accidentally stumbled on the village and declared it was where we wanted to live - it is a stunning village and very much part of traditional England without mass tourism, a place to get away from it all.
With the children leaving home but not wanting to give the house up, chose to rent it out and have gone back to the town but love coming back out here to "recharge the batteries".

Why they chose this property
The property is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Featuring solar panels it is also eco-friendly. Having four living areas and five bedrooms there is plenty of space to be with your family/friends or to escape on your own for some me time. Beds have been chosen to be comfortable especially for back sufferers!
Living space outside is pretty special too with comfortable rattan furniture under a new gazebo complete with bar, lit up with fairy lights. Stunning views all around
