Philip was a great guest! Really responsive and understanding, we’d welcome him back again!
A truly wonderful property in a stunning location, I cannot recommend this highly enough.
We definitely will consider returning as is is undoubtedly one of the best properties we have ever stayed in.
This house was ideal for our 3-generation half-term holiday. There was space for the little ones to roar around but also the opportunity for the oldies to find a peaceful corner. The village is relatively remote so we had to do quite a lot of driving to find entertainment for the junior members or history for the seniors but it was a delight to return to peace and quiet. And the pub serve us well!

Thank you Richard for your honest review. So pleased you liked the house and the village. The pub is a bonus! It really is a very special undiscovered part of the country. Thank you for being such great guests and looking after the property so well. You are welcome back any time!
A beautiful home , where 9 members (age3-71 of our family enjoyed 6 nights . Plenty of room, everything you could need for self catering, lovely garden with hot tub in a fantastic setting. Communication with Gill was prompt and efficient. We visited Lulworth Cove and Weymouth, as well as Kingston Maurward Animal park( free), and had Sunday lunch at nearby Brewers Arms. Lots of nice walks too. I can certainly recommend this property .

Thank you so very much Cathy for this review. The fact you all took such great pleasure staying here makes me happy too! You’re right there’s some lovely things to do in the area and glad you managed to get out and see some of the things this little discovered area has to offer. Loved the letter from your grandson, thank you so much! Am so grateful for your looking after the property too, it was immaculate!
We spent a family Christmas here and weren’t disappointed. The property itself is large enough for 9-10 people comfortably, with lots of space. The village is wonderful, very quaint, with some superb country walks, but not too far from Dorchester or Yeovil. The only issues we had were with some of the mattresses in some rooms being too soft, but that’s down to personal preference.Overall, would highly recommend.

Thank you very much indeed for your review Pun. It was kind of you to take the trouble to write.
Am really pleased you were able to enjoy the house and the area. It’s really important to me that you had a good time!
We visited this lovely cottage over the school easter break with our parents, siblings and respective families (9 of us).
The location and surroundings, cottage itself and the amenities, were all wonderful and consistent with the description online. We all had a wonderful time - lovely spaces around the house to lounge, for the children to disappear and enjoy their indoor and outdoor play, as well as a nicely equipped kitchen to enjoy food, beverages and social nibbles whilst having the extended breakfasts, unwinding after a long walk or preparing the big dinner :) !! Great location to explore the Dorset area and coastline....

Thank you so very much indeed for this. It’s wonderful that you were able to enjoy the cottage and all of its beautiful surroundings. Hope to see you again one day! Thank you
We arrived at Chelsea cottage and was met by Gill who showed us round. The house is as stunning as the photos. Plenty of space for all of us to enjoy time together as a family. The kids loved playing in the games room and running round the huge garden. The beds were so comfortable and my daughter said she wished she could take the bed home with her We had plenty of space in the garden for an Easter egg hunt and then walked up the road to a lovely liitle park. In half an hour we were able to drive to Weymouth beach which the kids loved. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this house and would love to return one day. Thanks again Gill

It was lovely to meet you and the family and so pleased you had a lovely time in Sydling. Glad the easter egg hunt went ok! Would be great to have you stay again! Very best wishes Gill
A beautiful house in which to spend time with the family.
Chelsea Cottage was large enough for us all to have plenty of space. There was lots to do for the grandchildren. They played a lot in the games room and in the garden.
We loved our family meals in the airy conservatory and relaxing in the lounge in the evenings.
Our daughters-in-law in particular loved the hot tub!
We enjoyed our daily outings, especially our fossil tour with the grandchildren in Charmouth.
The Greyhound pub in Sydling Saint Nicholas served up a very delicious birthday lunch for my husband.
All in all a really enjoyable week away.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. I am really sorry that you did not enjoy our accommodation as much as our other guests over the past few years.
Without an explanation, it is difficult to understand what you were looking for?
About the host
Hosted by Gill at Chelsea Cottage
Hello there My name's Gill and am a proud owner of this beautiful property in a most wonderful location. My ex and I built the property ourselves thirty years ago (even knapped all the flint!) so everything has been finished to the highest quality combining old warm charm with creature comforts. We accidentally stumbled on the village and declared it was where we wanted to live - it is a stunning village and very much part of traditional England without mass tourism, a place to get away from it all. With the children leaving home but not wanting to give the house up, chose to rent it out and have gone back to the town but love coming back out here to "recharge the batteries".
Why they chose this property
The property is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Featuring solar panels it is also eco-friendly. Having four living areas and five bedrooms there is plenty of space to be with your family/friends or to escape on your own for some me time. Beds have been chosen to be comfortable especially for back sufferers! Living space outside is pretty special too with comfortable rattan furniture under a new gazebo complete with bar, lit up with fairy lights. Stunning views all around
What makes this property unique
Hot tub, Summerhouse bar, oak conservatory, beams and brickwork, comfort and style!
