Watersports enthusiasts will appreciate convenient access to some of the island’s best windsurfing and kiteboarding, and others will enjoy paddling the kayak around the sound. Lounge by the private saltwater pool and Tiki bar, or step through the sliders to the large game room with pool table, kitchenette and TV. Nearby are two master bedrooms (2 sets of bunks, 1 king) and a full hall bath. Relax in the media room with 60” Smart TV home theater system with BluRay player or follow the soundfront deck to the hot tub and swimming pool with waterfall. Upstairs find five master suites, four with shaded waterfront decks. The top level has a master suite with whirlpool tub. Enjoy endless sound views in the great room with 55" Smart TV home theater system with surround sound and stereo. The elegant dining area offers sunset dinners, and the large, tiled kitchen is a chef's dream with breakfast bar with second sink, ice machine, and 2 dishwashers. Take a leisurely stroll down to the waterfront on the nearby community boardwalk and watch the blue herons and egrets gather along the shoreline, or simply enjoy sunset paddling around the Pamlico. Our stay at Sounds Terrific was the most wonderful setting ever for our large 4 generation family!

Our family found this home and view of the sound side to be the best of all choices for our summer vacation. The kitchen was so lovely and nearly each night we hosted a family dinner party with spectacular sunset views. Beautiful messes of blue crabs were caught in the sound on the dock within easy access. We bobbed in the pool deep into the night with toddlers learning to swim with all the family watching. Beaches were nearby and the owners recommendations were "spot on!" Live music nearby is special and picturesque as this area hosts many kite surfers. We loved kayaking on the sound and simply playing games together in the home. Best of all spots! We are grateful to the owners for welcoming our family. - The Hollenbecks from Kansas City.

Beautiful Views

This is an absolutely beautiful property. We enjoyed our stay except for not being able to use the entire bottom floor because there was no heat. There was no thermostat visible and we couldn't get an answer/return call from the property management when we called. It was Thanksgiving week so that may be why we didn't get a return call but we would have loved to have been able to use the whole property as we needed the bedrooms and that is where the media room and pool table is. We made the rest of the house i.e. bedrooms work for our needs, but we would have liked some follow up from the property management company and would have loved to be able to use the ENTIRE house and the amenities listed since that was what was paid for. We let the property management company know AGAIN after our stay and they said they would look into it but we still have not received any reply from them. I do recommend this property but just make sure you know how to use the heat and/or air on the first floor.

Best of the Best!

Hello, my name is Vince and I am currently on my last night in your wonderful beach house, Sounds Terrific! Since I was a baby my parents brought me to the Outer Banks twice a year. We started out camping in a pop up at Pea Island Resort before it became what it is named now. Eventually we outgrew that and my parents began renting homes from Surf or Sound. These were the greatest memories of my childhood, despite all of the other places my parents took me around the country. When I became an adult with a family of my own I continued to come out here and rent homes from Surf or Sound twice a year. Now that I am nearly 37 and have teenagers of my own this is still every bit of my heaven as it was when I was a young child. I come once a year with my family and once a year with other couples that have never gotten to experience the Outer Banks. We are on the latter of two trips currently, but planning a Thanksgiving family trip for this November. I have stayed in so many of the homes but this is the first time I have ever stayed sound side. I have to say out of all the homes that I have stayed in your home is the best one yet hands down. It is beautiful, comfy, and has everything you could need and more. For the first time I am not interested in staying at another home and cannot wait to come back and stay here again!

I knew we were in for a treat!!

When we drove up the driveway and I noticed how nice the landscaping was, I knew then, we were in for a treat! My family and friends were so excited…everyone thought the card and bottle of wine was very thoughtful and a nice touch. Your home “Sounds Terrific” is “beautiful” and just perfect, everyone truly enjoyed themselves. The decorations in the entire house are lovely! You put a great deal of thought and care into every detail, it’s truly appreciated. We had a wonderful view of those who went kayaking and of the deer! I am so happy I chose your home and look forward to returning next year

Best Place In The World

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. This is our 3rd trip to the OBX and one of my favorite places. We had 10 adults and 9 children here this week and it never seemed crowded. The house, pool and view is spectacular. We look forward to our next trip but not our 12+ hour ride home to Massachusetts!
