The space
Located in Heworth, a popular and quiet neighbourhood just outside York city centre. My unique, character-filled Victorian terrace has been recently refurbished to create a stylish and minimalistic space.
Enter into the kitchen. Cool grey fronted units and white marble effect worktops have been newly installed. Under counter and cabinet lighting give ambience to the modern and contemporary finish. There is a breakfast bar with two stools which is a great spot for a relaxed breakfast, quick snack or evening drinks. Mod cons include use of a fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. Parquet flooring runs through from the kitchen, leading the way into the living room.
Generously spaced, the living room has been extended, and a skylight added to the rear of the room. Lots of natural light emphasizes the sleek edges alongside the original charm of my old Victorian terrace. There are two large comfortable sofas, a log fire burner, and a Smart TV (please note, this is not connected with an aerial for terrestrial TV). A table and chairs sit under the skylight which is a welcoming, bright area to dine or work from home. Towards the rear, a small utility passage leads to a downstairs walk-in shower room.
At the very end of my house, two bespoke doors open up into the courtyard with a bench. Although modest in size, it's nice to have some outdoor space to relax in when the weather is warm.
Upstairs, is the bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The bed is king size, with two wall lamps on either side. There's a built in wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. The bed is made in fresh white laundered linen, and each guest will receive a hand towel and bath towel, as well as complimentary travel size toiletries.
In the ensuite bathroom there is a rainfall shower and handheld shower over the bath, as well as a toilet and wash basin. It's certainly a bonus to have a bathroom on each floor!
I support responsible travel within the current restrictions, and therefore my property is available for booking where the purpose of your stay falls within the current guidelines set out by the local Government.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house and yard, apart from the bedroom at the front which is which is for my personal use.
York city centre is less than 1 mile away. If you drive in it takes less than 5 minutes, but parking can be expensive. I recommend reaching the city on foot which only takes about 15 minutes.
Other things to note:
PARKING
I am able to provide visitor parking for one car, per night of your booking. This is via an electronic system, which will mean I will need your car registration plate at least 3 days in advance. Please notify my property management team of your car registration as soon as possible; they will then confirm that parking has been applied for.
Please note that parking is activated on the day of check in which means you can park up early (check in is still from 4pm to the house), and parking will be valid up to 10am on the day of your departure.
GUEST ACCESS:
When available, my house is set up for guest use, however, it is still my home therefore there is one locked room upstairs for my personal use. Please respect my house and treat it as your own.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT:
Check-in time is after 4pm and check-out time is before 10am. A £30 charge will be requested if guests check themselves in early without permission or if guests do not check out on time as this will cause disruption to my cleaner’s schedule.
Please note that you will be charged £100 for lost keys, so please be careful with them.
