The cottage has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 3), 1 bathroom, private entrance, WiFi, and includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and a beautifully decorated living area. Bessie's Landing is a 2 ½ hour drive from Dallas and an hour drive from Shreveport. Adjacent to the cottage is the main house which was built in 1857 and Guests are welcome to tour. Great stay, start to finish. Accomodations were very clean and comfy. Handy location. Lots to do in Jefferson. When we were at the rental, we relaxed on the porch, watched TV, and read through some of the information provided about the many things available in the area. Would definitely stay at Bessie's Landing again!

Excellent place to getaway!

Elaine and Ken have a darling property that is private, clean, and beautiful. The homemade blueberry bread that greeted us on arrival was delicious and a friendly touch. Also, there was an abundance of snacks and breakfast items which allowed us to enjoy our mornings without having to go out. I highly recommend Bessie's Landing to anyone wanting some quality R & R!

Great stay in Jefferson

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, pots, pans and the refrigerator was stocked with food too! We really appreciated the eggs, beverages, and snacks. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you!

This cottage is absolutely the cutest home. So welcoming, with everything you could possibly need!

Couldn't have been better

This was my first booking outside of a hotel and it couldn't have gone better. Elaine was super quick with communication and always friendly and helpful while also not being the pushy sort or inserting herself, which we introverts loved and appreciated so much! The guest house was beautiful and had everything we could have needed and was a vacation in itself.

PERFECT!

You won't go wrong by staying at Bessie's Landing. I heard about Elaine stocking the fridge with some breakfast items and various snacks, etc., but what we found was so much more! We had planned on going to the nearby store to pick up a few items, but there was no need, at all! Breakfast items were endless including fresh eggs, bacon, various breads and pastries, along with frozen items to choose from. All kinds of sodas, milk, juice, flavored teas and all the condiments needed for any of it! Her homemade blueberry bread was to die for. Needless to say, no need to go to the store at all. The house was immaculate and very inviting. We enjoyed mornings on the porch listening to the birds and the waterfall/goldfish pond in front, while drinking morning coffee. It's just as nice in the evening. You simply don't want for anything while you're there. Elaine and her husband were so kind and thoughtful and were there for anything you might need. Fur babies Mira and Shadow were nice greeters and very well behaved. We will be back!!
